Animals are Gods angels. Look at all they do for humans on pure instinct! I would LOVE to have the ear of someone that RETURNS an animal. How heartless. I can't even fathom! Thats why animal lovers like myself get bogged down with so many pets. They were all strays however I will never step foot in the SPCA to GIVE up a pet. But I have to adopt

Those people should not be allowed to own another pet . What is wrong with these idiots that think animals don't have feeling. I just don't understand and they probably do not take care of their kids either

Pets should not live in homes where parents do not care for them. But I fear they probably do not care much for their children either. Rather
    scary, is it not?

Excellent comments! Thank you all for reading.

  • Recently, some children came into the PetSmart where we show our foster cats for adoption. The parents never accompanied them on the two occasions that they visited the adoption center; they got a family friend to drive them to the store.

The father filled out the application and when I went for the home visit, the mother told me straight up, "I don't have time to take care of the cat because I work all the time (she and her husband own a restaurant) and I don't want to pay for vet bills. My 15 year old daughter will take care of the cat."

I declined them on the spot. Unless an adult is willing to take responsibility for the cat's welfare, even though the 15 year old agreed to take care of the cat, I could not in good conscience adopt our cat to them.

Isn't it a shame that back ground checks similar to hand gun purchases can't be done for pet purchase/adoption.

If parents would learn to discipline themselves first, then maybe they would realize it is their job to teach their children self discipline by truly disciplining their children............To Discipline means: To give life to learning. And our children can only get this if first the parents are self disciplined and then treat their children to this type of discipline as well.
