My father died from motor neurone disease in 2011 and the organisations need the money desperately to help find a cure. With all medications there are sacrifices and risks....cancer drugs, drugs for dementia, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Epilepsy, lupus; the list of illnesses are endless but to find a way of helping the symptoms or stopping the illness all together then tests need to be done...if not certain animals then what? Who? People serving full life sentences? If a relative of yours was struck down with whatever illness or disease would you honestly turn down all treatment because the medications used to help were tested on certain animals? What do you suggest that a certain number of humans were born to be used purely for the purpose of testing drugs that could save lives and change futures and stop the illness altogether one day. Walk in my shoes....I lost my father years before I had to and I too could end up facing the daunting prospect of my life ending through the same illness. I am a huge animal lover and I will always be grateful to those that are used to help in the name of fighting for life and freedom from illness and disease...Remember walk in the shoes of those who live with mnd/ALS or cancers, dementia whether you are the person affected or are a loved one of someone who is suffering....would you want them to receive treatment, would you want the illness to be a thing of the past?
