Sure islam and democracy can co exist,both are two different thought forms Democracyis a political system used by most western* states. While islam is religious practice, which is traced to Abraham the father of the three major western religious movements. If we take this it concideration abd understand thar islam has existed for so long, then why now is it a problem in the media? Because islam isthe 21st centrys boogyman, like USSR in the 20th century.

There are many cultures around the world and each one has different issues that has been going on for hundred or even thousands of years. The BIG difference is that no other culture breeds radical people like they have at the moment. Multiculturalism over time has never worked anywhere else in the world. European immigration has done a lot for Australia but I am afraid some cultures just wont change to our laws and way of life.
