I've been watching and listening to the V8s since the late 60s early 70s when TV coverage first came to WA .The slogan used then by manufactures was "win on sunday sell on monday"....that slowly became lost over the years and we now have these "mongrel bred" impostors...My interest as did alot of others here dropped when they were introduced, then add the loss of "free to air" TV situation and you have a mass exodus of people, me included ,watching any of it, including replays.
The only thing worth watching was the "MASTERS". that's the real stuff...That i believe is a promotors "dream" if done correctly by the "right" person, as it is being a little bit wasted at this time....
It'll be my first year since Bathurst was on TV in the early 70s that i'll not see it on TV.......
Under the circumstances i won't miss it......!!!!!

The CEO of V8 Supercars needs to stand down effective immediately, taking viewing away from fans is an absolute disgrace.

He clearly is out of touch, Foxtel decision needs to be overturned ASAP.

An absolute slap in the face for all whom support the series sponsors every time we choose to spend our hard earned money.

No one knows whats going on, total disgrace!!!!!

  • Paul - 9 years ago

From the beginning of Bathurst, up to now its been the fans or the sport that have got the V8 supercars where they are today, and its a disgrace to even believe that the drivers and organisers or the sport can turn around and mistreat Australian supporters as easy as the $, where is the loyalty,(you want loyal fans , how about been loyal to us) you all should be ashamed.

Screw the v8 supercars ten and foxshit will not be getting my vew time or a cent from me un till they are put back on FTA

  • Tracey S - 9 years ago

Cannot believe V8's Supercars have done this!! The V8's should be free for everyone to watch. My way of protesting, is by not watching ANY races! I have cancelled my annual accommodation down the Gold Coast and not be going to Ipswich race either. I'm a massive fan and have been for many years, this is just not right. And in case your interested, yes I can afford Foxtel!!!

  • Bob - 9 years ago

I am disappointed that V8 supercars have chosen to limit our access to watch the full coverage of all their races for 2015. My enthusiasm for the sport is slowly being eroded away. I hope the CEO sees some sense and reinstates the full programme back to free to air tv where it belongs for everyone to view before its too late.

Just found out I can't watch the v8"s anymore. This was one of my favourite shows. I would get quite excited when Craig, Jamie or Chaz got close to winning. Would not pay to watch TV as most of the programmes are complete crap. Repeat after repeat. If Channel 10 had spent the money on some new and decent programmes they would probably get more viewers and so more advertisers. As far as I am concerned the V8's and channel 10 can disappear from my TV. I will not watch either anymore on principle.

V8 Supercars should be trying to expose their sport to more fans, not marginalising the fans they already have. I doubt ill be watching any more seasons unless something changes. all races should be aired for all the fans on free to air even if delayed would be fine and let fox keep all the extras and live. I will not get foxtel ever again, ripoff

  • Terry gunton - 9 years ago

This is absolutely disgusting, V8 Supercars and its drivers are the best, now we, who cannot have Foxtel, ( a horrible option) will not be able to see our program in entirety. Shame on you V8 Supercars and to you Foxtel,' go to hell'

  • Di - 9 years ago

You know we are pensioners, we never missed a race at Oran Park or a spectacular Bathurst Race, we attended all V8 venues for so many years, and those we didn't attend we most certainly watched them on TV. Now we can only watch the TV because we are not as young as we use to be. As far as Foxtel we can't afford it and we are not interested in this company, it does not appeal to us, this may be fine for the people who can afford it.
So thanks for taking in all the different people who still love their Racing and can not afford FOXTEL now can not watch all these venues on TV, so much thought went into this venture.

    Dissapointed. Di

I love watching and am a serious V8 supercar fan. How is the average punter able to afford paying for Foxtel. You will loss so many supporters especially with the changes to the different manufactures. This is such a bad deal. Very unhappy.

I stopped watching the V8s a couple of years ago - it is now a joke compared to the glory days

  • steve - 9 years ago

Well done channel 10 you may have started the coverage but you now have ended it for all the real fans that watched every round every year well it looks like you have lost yet another fan from v8sc. Reconsider the television rights for the v8sc fans.

  • Mike - 9 years ago

Congradulations channel 10 you've killed the one sport I like to watch " free to air " for the last 20 odd years . You've not only lost a V8 fan but most of all you've lost me as a channel 10 viewer . You pack off assholes you sold us out to foxtel . I will never " pay " for something that has always been free . Its all about MONEY and not one consideration to all the loyal fans that keep the sport going . I could not understand why the Teams and Drivers have not stood up and said something about it for the fans and then I read they get a cut out of the deal as well . I'm absolutely gutted at this decision and will certainly miss my V8 " free to air " coverage on channel 7 . Shame on you channel 10 and all invoved in this greedy money hungry decision .

  • Geoff - 9 years ago

Watched the Ten coverage of MotoGP Phillip Island this year and it was absolute rubbish so don't expect the V8SC to be any better. Never had and never will have Foxtel, and with the demise of Holden and Ford and talk of turbo milk containers and V6's racing it has lost all appeal. RIP V8SC

  • Colin - 9 years ago

Moving to a limit live free to air TV is kicking your fans in the guts. This is a poor decision for fans in general. Loosing Ford and eventually Holden is going to be a challenge for the current fan base and then you hit them with a pay for view which will decline the remain fan base. I for one will not pay Foxtel for what should remain free to air and part of the anti siphoning rules. If channel 10 treats me with disdain and shows only 6 races I will give up altogether on V8's and you loose another fan.

  • Daryl Field - 9 years ago

What a load of crap. 7 has done a fantastic job with the coverage, the technology and its knowlege base of its commentators go FREE. Another great TV SPECTACULAR SPORT gobbled up by Murdoch. V8 Supercars should be ashamed about this decision. You have come so far forward to go so far back wards. Well Done

$50.00 a month to buy Foxtel and watch reruns of Gilligans Island, ads about Foxtel, oh and V8 Super Rorts? You've got to be kidding! If I could purchase a standalone sports package I'd consider it, but I won't pay for the crap I don't want to watch (that I'd be forced to pay for) if I chose to subscribe. It seems it's not about racing fans and all about advertising revenue and highlights packages. Shame on V8 Supercars and Foxtel...you'll make a stack of cash but lose a whole bunch of loyal fans and supporters!

  • scooter - 9 years ago

What a load of crap, get real V8S,when foxtel becomes a bit more affordable I may consider it,but as usual the corporate dollar wins out again over the actual race fan, looks like i,ll be doing a bit more fishing on race weekends

  • Grant - 10 years ago

Would never pay the $50 per month that is required...just to watch one channel, once a month.
    Nice try though FoxTel

  • Heisenberg - 10 years ago

I'll be streaming in (within Australia) like I have been this year.

  • monaroman - 10 years ago

Looks like this will be the last year I will be watching V8 Supercars. I don't have Foxtel and won't ever get Foxtel. It's 100 chanels of crap. Out of principal I won't be watching V8s on Channel 10 either. Also I won't be attending the Clipsal 500 or Bathurst anymore. Congrats V8 Supercars you've lost a customer.

  • IAN - 10 years ago

I wont be getting foxtel just to watch the v8's as per allways it is the fans who support the v8's that are the ones who miss out again shame on v8supercars

  • Simon - 10 years ago

    With a response rate of

  • Ross Brown - 10 years ago

I will not be buying Foxtel to watch V8's.
I pay good money to attend the Clipsal each year. I think the move to pay tv is disgusting and an insult to all those fans who have supported touring car racing.
I won't bother to watch the "highlights" on 10 as I imagine it will be :- 20 mins interviews, 20 mins racing/incidents and 20 mins ads.
You have lost me and a lot of others.

  • mrblown5.7 - 10 years ago

cant afford it plain and simple, looks like i will be watching less V8SC next year. And sorry Mitch but im not hanging my head in shame coz i want it free, I dont smoke, buy coffee or hardly even drink- just a struggling single father! So maybe you should be hangging your head buddy!

  • 05 torana - 10 years ago

Its always a box set of dvds ,for fathers day

  • STEPHEN TRIST - 10 years ago

Won't pay to watch something that I already watch now for free, why hold everyone to ransom and charge for something that has been free on Chanel 7 for years and an extremely good service, I hope Chanel 10 goes broke with everyone switching off from the V8's

  • Mitch - 10 years ago

Best thing to happen to the sport in ages. Can't wait for the coverage to start. I'm happy to pay and support the teams, those that want it all for free should hang their heads in shame

  • Mitch Amos - 10 years ago

I think it's stupid. It should be the same as it always has been, on free to air tv. As kym said, we pay high prices to go watch it live at the track. Defiantly won't be buying foxtel. And putting it on foxtel is going to ruin the sport.

  • Peter - 10 years ago

Won't buy crap just to watch v8s on it once a month. Will stick with good ol free live stream sites of Fox on the internet just like with nascar and indycar. Illegal or not who cares.

  • Kym Poole - 10 years ago

I pay a high prices when I go to the track, I won't pay to watch it at home on fox unless you can pay for the V8's separately.

  • Bryan Morgan - 10 years ago

Got foxtel because of next years coverage. More coverage and major sports will all be pay TV.
