Do you see value in having a virtual assistant (Cortana) in Windows 9?

I feel as if this is the next step in natural language programming. So that it will be a big improvement over Siri

With all respect to all the above opinions but Sorry i disagree...Ofcourse many will tell me that "Cortana" is wonderful, helpful makes life easier and absolutely can not do without, hey may they are right but maybe they are wrong!!! Here is something to consider is it not bad enough that software spies on you without your permission? Imagine having "somebody" from within your pc monitoring/watching/awaiting your every response, your every move, is that what we want? i certainly dont! i want to watch my pc when I WANT, not the other way around...Don't get me wrong, computers have been my life for the last 25 years, i pull them apart, reassemble them, program them BUT they are "my tools"... I would like the to see the option of using it at the users discretion

Many people I help with their computer feel that a spoken response is more user friendly but as for geeks like me I can take it or leave it.

It will make you feel like you are on Star Trek - "Computer" you get the point. We can all now feel like Scotty or Spock!! Awesome idea!!

I have and use Cortana on my Windows Phone 8.1 for awhile now, and while it could use more functions (it is only a Beta now) it does show promise. It is actually very functional while driving and much safer then texting. As to how it would be used on Windows 9 OS would be quite interesting to see. This of course wouls have to be after Cortana "grows up a bit" beyond Beta.

If it can reduce key strokes, it will be a great enhancement.

I am a Microsoft developer and have been using Cortana for months now and I personally know that Cortana will be extremely useful on all Windows devices. It would be kind of funny seeing someone on a desktop talking into their computer.
