And honestly, I wouldn't be too suprised if people were that uninformed about STDs. It's sad.

Crabs and Herpes, seriously? Why not Chlamydia..? Sure it sounds bad, but it can be cured. Crabs? Seriously, you would rather have little mites living in your public hair than something a little less disturbing. If I had crabs I'd freak out, and Herpes? What the fuck. Why? Okay. I'm out.

I'm really surprised that herpes is in the lead, considering there's no real cure. Chlamydia can be cured, so can most types of syphilis. I wonder if it's because the word herpes is used so much as a joke that people think it's no big deal? Or if it's because so many people have herpes? I would be devastated if I caught herpes, but if it were chlamydia, I'd be upset but at least I know I can fix it. I've known two people who've had Chlamydia and they both were cured within the week. Sure, if left unnoticed, it can have far more serious health implications than herpes (infertility) so maybe that's why? I really, really hope it's not because people are THAT uninformed about std 's.
