Luke 22:35-38 specifically quotes Jesus Christ as telling his apostles to buy a sword for self protection since He, Jesus, would not be there to protect them much longer.

I have read many Bible studies and every one of them confirms that Jesus did tell his disciples to defend themselves after he would be crucified. A sword in Jesus' time would be the same as a firearm in the current time!

Remember -- THERE WILL BE MANY FALSE PROPHETS AS THE TIME NEARS FOR JESUS TO RETURN.

John 18:10 Then Simon Peter having a sword drew it, and smote the high priest’s servant, and cut off his right ear.
John 18: 11 Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?

The Savior allowed Peter to carry a sword, although as he told Peter, that was not the time to use it.

Shall we not defend ourselves and our families from evil? Shall we stand there as our wife and daughters are ravished because we do not have a weapon? If a person with a gun comes into our home and we are not armed, our only options are to watch the torture or die!!!!

    Luke 22:36 ; Jesus said:
But now, he that hath a purse, let him take [it], and likewise [his] scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.
