Large hospitals use their market dominance to take advantage of small vendors. Knowing that they were my largest customer, Partners gave 90 days notice that they were cancelling my contract unless, moving forward, I agreed to 150 days payment terms, with no interest penalty for late payment. They used brinksmanship, and the situation was finally resolved in my favor within the last 24 hours by physician executive involvement.

So, why is it okay for affluent healthcare organizations like Partners to delay payments and threaten vendors, but its not okay for vendors to act that way? It seems like there is a mis-match in power.

In any other industry that might make sense, but being culpable when lives are on the line? Different story.
