Shake it off had such a powerful message contained in such an upbeat, catchy song. Out of the woods was such a beautiful more lyrical piece, which I prefer more. I believe I held 1989 at such a high standard, and I was definitely NOT expecting pop. I believe, though, Taylor transitioned herself to pop very gracefully. I love the pop, don't get me wrong, but I hope to hear her more elegant singer/songwriter ballads that I listened to and never got sick of. I honestly don't understand all of the hate she is getting. She is such a universal artist, and I think, in my opinion, that if you can perform throughout more than one genre, you are, in fact, a legend. #NuffSaiddddd
