As a master maine guide who has hunted and guided for Maine black bears for years I know with the vast forest we have you will never be as successful hunting bear without the three forms we use now.Bear are seclusive animals unlike deer and moose, they don't herd up or feed in groups like deer and moose. We as hunters hunt deer and moose during their breeding seasons and that's how we become successful without baiting them .This method will not work on bear as the males travel looking for sows in heat, they breed and he moves on where as bucks and bull moose gather the does and cows to a herd to monitor their heat cycles making it easier to hunt them. The bear hunting will drop off because any hunter worth his salt will know you cant still hunt the millions of acres of forest we have and get a bear.I hope the voters on the fence read this and talk with an exspert to see that im telling the truth.Without these tools to successly hunt bear no hunter will come to maine to hunt bearand that will be a great loss of revenue for Maine.

I pay taxes in this state and I pay for a hunting and fishing license. I want these funds to be used for the education of our wildlife here in Maine and if others want to stifle that information, then they have something to hide. I buy the license to know what is really going on with Maine's wildlife. The HSUS does nothing to support Wildlife here in Maine and they do nothing to sponsor education on wildlife for our state. I agree 100% with this decision by the supreme court. :)

As a professional hunter, outdoor television producer and conservationist extreme; I think the State of Maine Fish & Wildlife EXPERTS should be allowed to do their job as they have been trained, hired and payed to do without outside interference from special interest groups like the USHS... then they can spend their money on the wildlife and the habitat like they're suppose to do! THIS is the first negative economic impact of this proposition and if it passes, the economic repercussions will cripple your whole State! Sound game management and conservation is based on science and proven facts, not emotions and feelings on how people "think" it should be done. Maine is the black bear example for how it should be done, every other State in the Country is envious and jealous at how well Maine has done and Maine's bear biologists are literally the best in the World. This is like ME telling YOUR Doctor to NOT do the surgery regardless if he believes it's needed... this is YOUR HEART Maine, I believe you should listen to the experts and vote NO on proposition one.

After this gets voted on again I hope the tree huggers cant put it on the ballot again for 10 years same crap over and over until the public votes it in to shut them up.

sportsmen and women pay the majority of the salaries of maines warden service and biologist... these men and women are the ones educated in this topic. And if every ones so worried about tax payers money, why don't they complain about "northwoods law tv show. the wardens are on duty during the filming of that..

When I vote, I want to know the facts on a decision, not on what a group of people think it should be. This time the professionals happen to be hired by our state, and not from out of state.

I don't like my tax dollars used by the government to sway the voters in either direction. These "wildlife Specialists" are just Government mouths speaking for the lively hood of Government special intrests. Seems odd that our state is the only one in danger of the being eaten by bears if we stop baiting and trapping.

Wildlife specialists, are the only ones that we can believe on question 1 You can't believe peoples emotions on what they think the rules should be. Maine wildlife specialists have been studying black bears in Maine for years.

If the department and the legislature had done their job and made hunting policies the decision of lawmakers and the "HIRED" officials who supposedly run our resource, we wouldn't even be having this debate!
