Coal legislation will be reversed. Solar and wind subsidies will be decreased or eliminated.
Not much will change. Budgets have already been allocated to grid modernization and a lot of the GOP folks support subsidies for renewables so things will proceed as planned. Ho Hum…
Perceived investment risk for new transmission due to unknowns surrounding the future of coal plants and wind power subsidies will delay new construction. Independent entrants to transmission construction (under FERC Order 1000) will be hesitant to bid, thus raising the cost. All this could put a freeze on new construction and utility bond interest rates might go way up, raising electric rates. Subsidies for renewables will decrease or disappear entirely and the ‘Greens’ will revolt into the streets! In all, a total disaster for the industry and the ratepayer.
Gimme a break! I just can’t agree with any of the above. See my comment below.
