The 50-over matches could be played with 2 innings. Perhaps 30 overs in the first innings and 20 in the second. This would balance some of the advantages of winning the toss. Also some interesting follow-on targets could be devised. The one-day matches need to achieve some of the drama of test cricket and not be just number games.

I agree that Test matches are 'true' cricket, however I suspect the poll numbers may be skewed by those who are willing to read the article & those who listen to ABC commentary & appreciate real cricket? There are plenty of people with short attention spans looking for flashy entertainment sadly... I still hope the game progresses past this phase and puts the emphasis back on consistency & skills.

True cricket is about skill, planning and strategy, a game of intelligence. T20 has very little of any of these traits, it has ruined cricket with a focus on just flogging the ball around the pitch and pandering to short attention spans with colourful marketing and gimmicks with no substance. Get rid of T20 all together.

That last 20/20 series with South Africa just showed what a weak game, poor commentary and hopeless around field "entertainment' comes with the game. Surely we can do better than that.

OwI agree with grumpy, there's too much cricket, I don't bother watching either one DAY or twenty20 now, as I can't keep up with the amount of players, I used to make connections with players as you would see them all summer. Now you don't know wether you watching a B-)side run around. Twenty20 should be an under 23 world cup for up and coming players!
