Once you put something out in the air you can not take it back. She may have apologized for her statement to the girls but what about her statement about President & Mrs. Obama. Not respect, no loyalty. Should have kept her thoughts to herself and prayed about it BEFORE she took to Facebook to make a worldwide statement. She messed up and her trust value is below zero at this time. She may have also proven to the GOP that her mouth has no filter where they are concerned also. This could happen again at the wrong time with her own people. #ijszl

  • madise anderson - 9 years ago

she has no loyalty to the first family if she is speaking publicly about them in this way, let her GO!!!

  • Beverly - 9 years ago

I believe that if the young woman had talked to her parents and God when she growing up, she would not have to epoch their names in vain now. Her position deals with the public and it took time to write what she did so there was more than enough time to think about it before she wrote and posted it. She needs a librarian job where silence is golden.

  • Thaddeus - 9 years ago

Well ! When your credentials don't add up to the Commander and Chief an his Queen the next best target are their children, I'm quite sure they are more intelligent than her small mindset, sad one would stupped down so low to innocent children, she should be locked up for verbal assault on the Commander an Chief family this should be law.

  • kimmie - 9 years ago

Well there is ZERO talorence for bully no matter who does it, everyone gets some sort of punishment, so its time to go, she meant what she said, the word of God said whatever is in a mans heart and thus he speaketh, that want to set examples of people who committ certain acts, well try this on for size, that way people that hold certain postions would be more mindful of what they say or do to others

after all thats going on,we get a comment like this.think she needs to realize she's a races.so why back up on what was said,

This women is no leader and is certainly not a person to look up to. She needs to be fired.

  • Felicia - 9 years ago

How can someone with clearly no class talk about some with class. It's really sad that a 4 eyed, fat bleached blonde, homely, house frau looking (never gonna get a Brad Pitt) hag, is jealous of 2 beautiful young ladies and theit parents. This President and the 1st family will never be respected by the jealous, racist minority in this country.

  • Hebranise - 9 years ago

Why should she be fired for? kids nowadays have no respect for society or anyone to that matter. Can't we all see what's going on now. She is telling the truth

  • sjackson - 9 years ago

Let us not forget the Bush girls under age drinking, public display of rudenss, and mean to the staff. These girls were dressed apropriately for the occassion, apparently you have no class or character to make any comments on what they wear. you don't buy there clothes. Those Bush girls was an embarrassment with the crap they wore in public. You nitwit!

  • Prejudice - 9 years ago

The Obama girls appear to be very classy children because I believe there parents are classy people . I don't personally know and neither does this person . So what is she judging them on ? Because they don't look like her ? I'm sure she looked and did everything right as a teenager . It's really sad the deep hate that people have for The President of The United States . My question is has he done that bad of a job compared to where this country was in 2008 or is he just not white so it does not really matter?

  • Cynthia - 9 years ago

If republicans were so ‘image Conscience’ we wouldn’t be having this discussion. The way they have showed their ‘true color’ toward President Obama’s authority is a reflection of their respect for the United States. She said, what she meant and meant what she said - point blank!

  • Cynthia - 9 years ago

She should not be worried about what the public think - she should be focused on what the Lord think about her. She will be judged - the way she judged.

  • melinda whitt - 9 years ago

Why should she be fired for telling the truth? Why if it was anyone else's children those children would be expected to act with respect!! What makes the obama brats any better???!!!!

  • Naomi - 9 years ago

Ten times more of you are voting she be terminated. Let s/he who is without sin cast the first stone. Are you blameless for posting ill thought-out, judgmental drivel on Facebook? Are you blameless for judging others? No. I didn't think so. Firing her would be more judgmental than she was being, and can't be retracted. Let her learn humility and compassion, not bitterness.

  • Edith - 9 years ago

Obviously she said what she meant, she's very disrespectful person and a bully! She needs to go! No tolerance for bullying!

  • Tony Brown - 9 years ago

Elizabeth was wrong to judge these kids in a public forum, her apology was only to save her job in which I vote she lose. Your a mature woman that knows better to be inappropriate in any fashion; taken your responsibilities. P.S. Christians aren't racist, are display hate towards kids... This kind of hate towards some black teens end up with cases like Zimmerman and Wilson, black people are not cutting white people heads off like in other countries, are holding hostages, and threatening nuclear war. Lay off the kids and focus on the serious issues..

  • Will - 9 years ago

Her apology was acceptable to the public; although it sounds like one big lie to me

  • Gary Staines - 9 years ago

she lacks the experience to perform the task. Immature and hateful. America deserves better

  • Vanessa - 9 years ago

Actions have consequences, Lauren should carry her cross, next life... She will know better!

  • Mary porter - 9 years ago

How aweful ! To pick on children be an adult and call there parents with your concers . Her ignorant really out shine your education what a roll model..

  • Sarah - 9 years ago

This whole scenario can be addressed without name calling or the race/gender card being played:

    1) As a nation, we have freedom of speech. We do.
    2) There are consequences for our actions, whether good or bad.
    3) As an adult and professional, this was a cowardly move
    4) There is a zero threshold for online/cyber bullying.
    5) For this deliberate carelessness and premeditated thoughtlessness, anyone should be relieved of their responsibilities. One needs to engage their brain before they disengage their tongue/send key

As an aside, perhaps the staffer would like to provide a tutorial for how to dress at a bar, cause honestly, I don't know.

  • Monica - 9 years ago

It's big of her to at least come back and make an apology but that does not cover the fact that those hurtful words came out and people read those initial words before the apology. A lot of people lose jobs over things that would be considered petty and small and a women of her power should not be treated different especially when it was clearly wrong and inappropriate. Regardless of people's feelings about the president, no one should attack his family. In the time of presidents and as a soldier myself we'd get in trouble if you talked negative about your commander in chief but now it's ok. Those girls did not ask for life, they didn't choose to be in the media, but it's their life and that is their parents. They never said thru would following in their parents footsteps to work on politics but right now they are teenagers and they are entitled to be just that. I'm sure they get tired of dressing the part, pretending, and not being able to have personalities of their own. Yes set should be fired for attacking teens because I'm a mom of teen girls and I'm not in politics but had it been my child and you not be fired for attacking a minor I would stoop to a whole mother level and whoop her ass because I have a strong hate for people who attack children.

  • C. Hill - 9 years ago

Dear Liz Laut (Geben) en, the German translation "to give tongue" is rather appropriate. You've annoyed me immensely by criticizing The First Daughters and insultingly President and Mrs. Obama and I believe you need clarification. You and your GOP have disrespected this President so disgracefully, it's hard to fathom this is America. But this is our America as well, not just Tennessee, where we don't all sip mint juleps all day which, maybe why you're so familiar with bar attire. we do not wear crinoline and curtsy as you undoubtedly still do on the plantation. We no longer have dress up for Turkey Day! You barely give the President the respect by addressing him as President Obama. You're still spreading your miserable bigotry in falsely attacking these two beautiful young ladies to give you the balls to say some of the other ugly remarks you made. Go look at yourself in the mirror and you'll know exactly what I see... You should be fired! Heres what you do in future, your job. If you're communications director it's no wonder there's a language barrier.

  • D. Gosa - 9 years ago

Yes, she very well knew what she saying, it really shows her upbringing. politicians are always ranting and then want to come back and apologize, it's already been said the damage was done. Fire her asap.

  • Tawana Craig - 9 years ago

This female knows her position and knew she was wrong to begin with..The comments were directed to the whole family..She just showed her true feelings about the family so yes with that alone she should be fired...

  • ahparker - 9 years ago

As a Communications director, she knew "exactly" what she wanted to say before she posted her comments!!!...There is "no excuse" for her belittling those two young girls!!!...They were dressed appropriately for a "turkey" pardoning!!!...She is just continuing the "Total Disrespect" our President has received from the GOP since his election to the White House!!!...I am not a Republican and did not like the way President Bush ran our country but I have always respected the position of ANY President because he is the Leader of OUR Country!!!... The Disrespect for OUR President and his FAMILY has to END!!!...This is sooooo Embarrassing for our country as a whole!!!...United We Stand!!!!.... Divided We Fall!!!...:-(

  • glenn williams - 9 years ago

If she's quick to respond negatively and about something like this , can you fathom what she says behind close doors. Where's Donald Trump: Your Fired.!!!!

  • gq - 9 years ago

Fact is that we have a black man in office. Yep, he's the b.m.o.c., the commander, the big man, the head n!#:& in charge. Whatever you want to call him, he's prone to all that people Will throw at him. Do we need to attack his kids for not dressing "appropriately"?....shameful for this communications director to charge at these "kids".....that's right, that's what they are....fire the damn b!#:&h.....she spoke what she felt, the damage has been done...now she wants to apologize because she's about to get the boot

    ..

  • Wendy Runion - 9 years ago

She is apologizing to the Obama girls, but not to the President and 1st lady. She insulted the entire family! "Not good roll models? Really?
Our president has enough insults out side of the white house, he shouldn't tolerate this from a white house staff member.

  • Barbara Brown - 9 years ago

Yes get that racist cow out of there. She totally disrespected the girls and the President and that kind of behavior should not be tolerated. There is so much hatred in these people's heart against President Obama since he has been in office and it needs to stop. When he leaves office he needs to tell them all to kiss his NBA which is his Natural Black As you can see what I mean.

  • Sharon Mayes - 9 years ago

First of all this lady is prejudice. Making a statement to someone kids are unacceptable. She should be fired. Noone ever made a statement about the bush kids nor his drunk self. I m so sick of this nation being critical of Mr. President Obama because he is a man of color. FIRE HER.

  • Shana Westbrook - 9 years ago

I can't believe she used such hurtful words towards children and then to talk of their upbringing was really bad. She should be fired immediately. There should be a limit with words especially when it comes to children. I understand there are many Americans that aren't pleased with the President Obama, but keep it on him and not his children. There's just no RESPECT for the president at all. If it were Bush or any other president would we be having this disrespect? Would we have the comments towards the children? I wonder if she made the comments when President Bush daughter had the issue with alcohol. Oh well this is a prime example that one should think before speaking. I'm not a Republican, but if I were I'd be very embarrassed right now of her statement and ignorance.

  • Raylette Smith - 9 years ago

Please fire this Hippocrate! She said what she felt and attacked his kids. His kids are respected. These Republicans are looking more and more like KKK and so far removed from the real American people. Racists pigs

  • Tabitha Scaife - 9 years ago

This lady, and it a stretch to address this pompous judgemental person as lady; is insidious, how in the name of humane sanity did she get the notion it is okay to lash out at teenage young ladies.

First of all refering to parenting skills and values, she needs to reevaluate her family values; real adults don't lash out at children because they have an issue with their parents, duh..., are you a hater or nah??, from one proud black women's perspective, I'd say yes.

Leave the child bashing alone, it is a indecent appearance; we all have an opinion, but to whom, and how we express them is suspect, before you decide to call someone else's children out again, think about how much your opinion really matters, I mean really....

  • M.J. Dudley - 9 years ago

Just another show of the total disrespect shown to this President and his family. As a full grown women she should have known better, but with the racial mentality in and of the United States these days, I'm sure she will be given a high five behind closed doors, a slap on the wrist for the public and will more than likely keep her job. Her apology came only because of the backlash she received it did not sound heart felt or sincere.

  • tanae - 9 years ago

We talk about bullying so much and here to grown women talking about to little girls in case you haven't notice thisis how this generation dresses I would rather see them dress like this because it shows that not everyone have them pretty little dresses.

  • Jay Blair - 9 years ago

Lester Hill, it's comments like yours that right now have the world protesting against injustice of all people. It's not just a black or as you say; African American thing it is justice and fairness for all people. What this women said was shameful, hateful and disrespectful of the First Family. If this were a white president would it be acceptable? I think NOT! STOP THE PROFILING.

  • Linda Gibson - 9 years ago

I love and respect the Obama family but I will be very happy when they are out of office so they won't be subjected to this kind of vicious attack. I didn't care much for George Bush but I respected him because he was the President. What is wrong with people? We should be better then tis by now. This woman owes Sasha and Malia a personal apology and she certainly needs to resign.

  • AC_81 - 9 years ago

Think before you speak and if you don't have anything nice to say...Then be QUIET and sit DOWN!!!

Didn't we all learn that as children?!

  • FolaOlatunji - 9 years ago

I share the popular opinion here that she should be sacked at once. The apology she gave was only on account of the need to retain her job and the whole world can see the spate of her thoughtlessness here. She was so detailed with her choice of baleful words to suggest willful vituperation and I suppose the right thing is for her to be served justice for the disrespect. I really wish she thought it through before taking to Facebook to lampoon the first family and the administration she's part of. It's a shame how we allow ego to get in the way of virtues

  • Angel - 9 years ago

She should engage her brains before speaking on anything or anyone. I can tell her parents did an awful job with her. I guess it's safe to say you have poor role models also. Only an idiot would attack children.

  • Millicent Willis - 9 years ago

Her apology is an attempt to cover her behind, yes she should be fired. The whole attack on the Obama daughters was really directed at President and Mrs Obama. The level of outright DISRESPECT shown to the First Family, nationwide, is unbelievable. There were other first families with daughters that REALLY DESERVED being called CLASSLESS, but ya never heard that!!! How terrible....attacking two beautiful young ladies who have been raised with values and morals, only to say something NEGATIVE about President and Mrs Obama. HANG HER OUT TO DRY!!! She showed hr TRUE color!!!

  • Linda Gibson - 9 years ago

This woman should resign and apologize to the girls and the Nation for her disrespectful comments and she needs to pray before she makes a pubic statement not after. It is really upsetting to realize that some people are so hateful. I am having a hard time dealing with this. I know there are more important things going on in the country now but this incident really upset me. I live and work with and have people in my family of many races and religions but I haven't felt so disrespected until I read your statements. Your hateful statements toward the President and his family over a Turkey ceremony just proved how much hatefulness exists in this county. If this woman dose not resign a petition should be started to remove her from office. I would like to be the first to sign.

  • lester hill - 9 years ago

Soon as someone says anything about the first black family (and they happen to be white ) this type of reaction can be expected! Let's say an african american progressive made such a statement then it would be okay since only black people can critique black behavior!

  • Brenda Jones - 9 years ago

Shame on her, they are the presidents kids and I am sure that Mr. President is not not happy about what she had to say better yet, THE First Lady don't play ,where do.we draw the line? This man gets no respect !

  • m e horne - 9 years ago

WAKE UP PEOPLE !!! Its called WAR!! and its getting worse, not better. Lauten feels entitled, bec ause she is white. No doubt in my mind she got her high paying job because she is white, certainly she is brainless and one of the nastiest females in D.C.!!!! and just think, there are Millions more like her,or worse,in this country!

  • Betty Brown - 9 years ago

I HAVE NEVER SEEN SO MUCH DICRESPECT OF OUR PRESIDENT AND HIS FAMILY. YES SHE SHOULD BE FIRED TO MAKE A STATEMENT ABOUT THE PRESIDENT DAUGHTERS IS VERY LOW CLASS. FOR A SO CALLED PROFESSIONAL GET A LIFE.

  • Honey0925 - 9 years ago

She needs to go!!!! I don't for one moment think it was a mistake. I think it was a total disregard for the respect of the office as there has been throughout President Obama's Presidency. She didn't stop at the girls, she went on to speak in a negative manner on the first family as a whole. She is the one lacking in etiquette as well as sensitivity.

  • TicToc - 9 years ago

Sometimes people act out of stupidity and arrogance because of hate but when you know better you do better but at the end of it all forgiveness is the key to healing the wounds of stupidity, arrogance and hate.

  • Shirley M. Crump - 9 years ago

This is TOTAL beyond unacceptable behavior, for a professional, grown woman! Who does that???? Let's just say what this is, besides, blatant hate, and disrespect of the President & First Family...SHE IS CYBERBULLYING CHILDREN!!!! IS SHE GOING TO BE ALLOWED TO GET AWAY WITH THAT??????

  • Emmy - 9 years ago

She should vacate her position and learn to sensor her words next time she wants to talk. As a public speaker in such a high profile career, I would not and will never judge kids. You should be a fool to say such silly remarks about children. Does this lady have kids of her own?

  • Cristina - 9 years ago

Yes she should be fired fuck u

  • Helen Waiters - 9 years ago

First of all those young ladies does not dress or look like they are going to a bar.. firstly, they are well reared..so what pictures you been viewing over the last eight years..you have not seem them grow up in front of the camera. Yes, they're very classy young ladies, You have done the damage, so an apoloy is not acceptable, because ANY mother, as the First Lady is would be quite upset over your statement. I will say this on behalf of all mothers of daughters from your statement about the First Children, your mother did not raised a classy lady (now do you feel and how would your mother feel the statement I am making about your appearance and lack of intelliegent) and your outfit from this picture also, seem to be something you would wear to a bar including hairdo, the pearls failed to add class to the outfit you are wearing. A mother of daughters

  • nicole - 9 years ago

Apology or not you said what you meant you can't take it back those are young ladies and they don't have to dress up everyday they are human beings and regular people give respect that was so ignorant of you as a woman but like I said ignorant the def of not knowing you can apologize but what's said is done

  • Char - 9 years ago

What's the use of her apologizing? The Bigot spoke straight from her heart; and if that's what she said, that's what she meant. So STOP and be yourself, be who you are, an idiot!!!!!! But know that CHILDREN ARE OFF LIMIT, PERIOD.

  • cheetah Whiskey - 9 years ago

No respect for the president or his kids. You do not deserve to serve as a communication director. We already know that the officers of senate/ house of Representatives republicians don't respect the first family you're bashing teens and you need to be replaced fired vanished from the administration.

  • covenantpal - 9 years ago

Under aged children are off limits as they are unable to fight for themselves. She took out her frustration on children. That is abuse.

  • BEVERLY - 9 years ago

That girl was deliberately being disrespectful, when she opened her mouth and said that about their parents not being a role model. She needs to stop and take a look at herself, she's not even in a position to judge how someone looks with her fat, plain jane wobbly looking self. I don't know who game her a fashion award saying she can judge how someone looks but she needs to get her money back. The KKK got her fooled and f---edup. The way she looks she should never open her mouth to criticize no one not even an ugly duckling. She don't have anything on the Obama Girls. Besides they are not trying to impress nobody like she would need to because she doesn't have nothing going for her but the KKK.

  • Brandy - 9 years ago

It was a very disrespectful comment she made. No matter what hateful opinion she has toward our President and the fashionably First Lady, she should have kept her ignorant comment to herself. She deserves to be fired and maybe next time she will think first.

  • Jo - 9 years ago

She's a dirty old Bitch, bashing children, Disrespectful ! Yes, FIRE that bitch. Our President, has been Disrespected , from his first, day in office, Now, you choose to openly, voice your Dumb opinion, about his children , Fire it!!!

  • vrodprinzs - 9 years ago

FIRED! She should be removed with the exact same swiftness as her tactless remark! There is no space or room for her egregious actions and judgement. She should have prayed about it before she wrote about it. Too many of her kind, with the same mindset have been allowed to attack the POTUS and family without any repercussions for their actions. UNACCEPTABLE!

  • SHARON - 9 years ago

She made herself quite clear in her comments as to where those girls received their upbringing further adding insult to injury; not to mention the total lack of disrespect to THE. COMMANDER IN CHIEF AND FIRST LADY. So is she aware that she convicted herself with those same words that came out of her mouth cause hurt to someone else? Because I'm sure her parent's arr very of her upbringing after she the girls got theirs from there parents ; now where did you get your Ms.Lauten? What's in the heart proceedeth out of the mouth. You did right by praying if you truly meant it because GOD knows your heart and you will reap what you sow even if he does forgive you. GOD BLESS

  • Colleen Perkins-Bailey - 9 years ago

I'm sorry, did we all miss something, if this was a another president's child all jell would have broke out. She is no different from all the other People who don't agree with President Obama. They attack him, his wife to her curves and now his children. Where is the respect at for our Leader of the United States. I feel that ever since he has new in office this man has been disrespected. They won't call him President Obama, but Mr. Obama. He has been heckled at my Congressmen during speeches and called a liar. Why aren't they fired or asked to step down from their positions. This a double standard country. We is the equality at in the USA. This woman is just ignorant. I don't. Recall anyone saying anything about the Bush's daughters she they were out there cutting up. Where was class at then. These are two young girls and this woman told them they had poor ip bringing. She lucky she didn't get the mess slapped out of her. I saw the picture and they looked cute. What's her problem. It wasn't a mistake, she said how she's been feeling all along. What a disgrace. As an American, I am embarrassed.

  • VELMA - 9 years ago

She only said she was sorry because she feels her job is on the line well fool you should feel the heat on your butt because as president you know he is going to put you in the alley where you belong with the rest of the snakes

    FIRE HER NOW !!!!

  • Damion - 9 years ago

In any communications major or position you learn in the beginning to be wise and professional when using social media. This was not wise nor professional.

  • Maycee50 - 9 years ago

FIRE HER!!!!! It is apparent she has NO respect for the POTUS or FLOTUS and that's fine. BUT to verbally attack Malia & Sasha was very inappropriate!!! They are someone's children. How would she like it if that was done to her children???? You do not attack innocent children because of your dislike or HATE for their parents. Funny how after her post she PRAYED about it and apologized. Dummy should've prayed first then MAYBE she would not have made that initial post. Regardless of stature, they are teenagers! Would yours act any different is they were in the WHITE HOUSE? DOUBT IT! This woman is a disgrace to the state of VA.

  • Lakeyia Hayes - 9 years ago

She's not sorry at all she deliberately said those things and meant every word she was getting her promotion and recognition with her Klan group there will be no firing so there's no sense to vote we shouldn't even acknowledge her cause all we are doing is giving her recognition. Who knows her? Nobody Who cares about her and what she represents? Nobody So why promote a Nobody when the name Obama alone means SOMEBODY of RELEVANTS

  • DMG-NJ - 9 years ago

I have absolutely had-it with the lack of respect given to THIS President & THIS First Family! George W. Bush embarrassed this nation every single time he opened his mouth, lied to the country & the world, yet somehow President Obama & Mrs. Obama are not good role models, & their daughters -- who do not go out drinking as the Bush girls did, are somehow inappropriate?!

Lauten is not worthy of representing anyone in office or having a platform in "communications," & the visceral venom she spews should garner her a swift kick in the pants to the unemployment line, STAT!

  • stephanie - 9 years ago

I am so tired of people thinking they can say and do anything to other 's that is not right those are teen's and i felt they look fine the things that important people wear today they shoul not wear but that has nothing to with the job you are doing you wearing what make you comfortable.

It has become appalling clear that the word 'class' is the new code word for closeted bigots. Say what you want, but I have never heard the word used so much since the Obama's took office. Anyone who dare questions the motive of the people who use it as a club to beat the President and his family over the head with, are quickly accused of 'playing the race card' and making everything about race. Translation, 'class' is the new code for Getto, Thuggish, Nigger Acting, Welfare Mentality, Jiggaboo's! The level of disrespect shown to the First Family is unprecedented and what was once believed to be politically and socially unacceptable behavior is exhibited openly on a daily basis. This woman obviously thought nothing of taking advantage of this trend and decided to take it to the next level. What possible defense could a grown women have for trying to ridicule and demean two innocent children? Her behavior is inexcusable and beneath any woman who should have the common sense to understand that you don't degrade children. I dare say that had she done this to a neighbor, Mrs. Lautun could very well expect a knock on her door that very evening. Finally the bigoted, ignorant, unjustified racist remarks disguised as 'lacking class' can no longer be explained away by people who claim not to be bias. No one could possibly make a case for this not being about race when it comes to these two lovely and very respectful little girls, and I challenge anybody to try! This woman should be fired for her remarks that clearly demonstrate, "SHE HAS NO CLASS!"

  • Bouska Hatcher - 9 years ago

She need to focus on her job, and let the President, and First raise their children.
If they saw a problem with their girls. I'. sure they would have address it.
If you don't have anything to say positive then keep your negatives thoughts to yourself!!
She had the nerves to speak in a matter that did not concern her. That's goes to show just because you are an "So called Grown-up" do not mean you know everything.
Learn when to speak and when you do open your mouth be professional choose the right words, time, and place to voice your opinion.
And most of all if she thought it was a problem she should have addressed their Mother the First Lady.

I really dislike professional people when they don't do their part and quick to point at some one else she aught to be ashamed of herself...talk about class she needs to have some first. she is so disrespectful

Yes , she should be fired!...considering her top noch background education she have and her public position , being so judgemental of others and jumping to foolish conclutions says to much about her inhability to make right and wise choices. With all , her knowledge she lacks wisdom and integrity. Who Is going to trust her if she feels so right and confident to trash the image of honorable people what will be left in treatment for the little guys like me that gave her boss the power to represent us and our best interest. An apology not necessarily means that she is in fact sorry of what she thinks and is just a resource used to avoid accountability and concecuenses for the harm done. What is in your heart soon or later comes out through your mouth , and she let it out in outrageous way.

They are teenagers, not fashion statements, let them be teenagers, at least they took part, they could have been in bed sleeping, with youth suicide etc at an all time high, when adults are posting in public forums about teenagers and putting them down, how do expect teenagers not to feel hurt by comments, either they are teenagers in the public eye or a kid at school being bullied, when they are found depressed or dead because of the way they are treated, I think parents and adults need to look at the morals they teach their kids that bully others, and adults that criticise in a public forum need to look carefully at their life as it must be sad to have to spend their time putting others down in a public way. This lady needs to be sacked. No child should be criticised in a public forum, very sad and disgusting.

It's a pro forma apology with very little substance. The fact remains that she not only lambasted the Obama daughters, but she disrespected the Office of the Presidency and neglects to apologize to the President and the First Lady for her venomous remarks. There is no remorse demonstrated here. It is only an empty gesture.

Why is it that people pray after they make comments & not before. This is why I am in favor of #TermLimits for both congressmen & Sentators

whereas I am totally pissed at her dumb a.. comment and I don't buy the apology, she is living proof you can't fix stupid. where did she learn it? sadly her parent had to tell her she was wrong and low down. that said, we are becoming a nation that every time someone say or do something we don't like the quick fix is FIRE THEM.....and yes we can say if it was a black person they would be fired, probably true. ... we still haven't fixed the problem, be they black or white. we have to stop trying to take away a person's mean of living every time they do or say something dumb, I feel we may be making that problem worst. I confess I'm not big in the forgiving department I feel that's GOD's position to take, and again I feel that she spoke from her heart, where did she learn to think like that? those words will follow her throughout her life, and hopefully that will be a long time.

Y when someone white make a statement its excused. She know what she was doing. How can she not know she is in communication

  • Kay Robinson - 9 years ago

Yes, she should be fired. Her comments were tacky, mean, & unprofessional. Her action shows that she is a Cyber-Bully. She makes her boss & the GOP look bad. How embarrassing for the U.S. :(

Reading what she (an adult) wrote about kids makes this abult feel that she is bullying them because she doesnt like their father...she needs to be fired IMMEDIATELY!!! DISTASTEFUL and CHILDISH!!!

  • Kate Joseph - 9 years ago

An adult bullying children is the worst. She definitely should not be in her position if she has to be that petty and unprofessional. I would resign with my apology if I had made what some refer to as a bone headed mistake.

  • Hattie Lewis - 9 years ago

She is most certainly out of line but consider the source! (Tennessee) She really believes she has the white! No respect even for the President of the United States! SHAME!!!

    Fire her right now!!!!

You are a very ignorant person your comment was foolish and the apology was bull you meant every word you said and the disrespect you showed toward our president and first lady was totally out of order you really need prayer like so many other foolish people never would we have seen so much disrespect towards any other first family this is a sad world we are living in!!!!

  • Lorrie Hooker - 9 years ago

I say yes fire her, when you go that far to talk down about someone's kids you don't deserve to hold that position. As a parent you over stepped your grounds and if you're a parent you should understand that you do not put your mouth on people's kids period!!! If you had a problem with what the girls were wearing you should have addressed that with the parents.

  • 1ofakind - 9 years ago

Once Again, She has shown her "True Color".....IT'S BEEN GOING ON FOR 8 YEARS....and now you want to apologize. She should be THANKFUL Mrs. Obama wasn't there, she overstep the boundaries, when it came to [Her Girls].....

  • Crystal - 9 years ago

As a representative of the US Government herself, Lauten should have respected her position as an a adult and kept her opinions personal. Her apology didn't matter because her first comment was everything she had been wanting to say. You have made it known to everyone that you don't respect the position held by President Obama nor his family.

  • Stephanie - 9 years ago

I don't see how you attack children that's underage and then have to think about what you said, talk to your parents and god just to see you were wrong. Your a ugly person probably don't like black people and your words on underage black girls prove it I hope like hell they fire you. You don't make good judgment calls and just proved that to the nation

As a role model this is one thing you don't do is talk down to people. This is something I would expect coming out of the mouth of Rush Limbaugh a low life that unfortunately is in the public media but not from a politician that you would hope has class and dignity like the family in the white house. This just shows more and more how crude the GOP's are and not the type of people we want running our country.
