I am boycotting this movie and I am asking my friends to do the same!
I am so tired of seeing historical pieces white washed! The sad part is that most people who watch these movies, especially in our modern times, believe it to be historically true. I have studied Ancient African history and much of our culture has been stolen and altered to fit the present day narrative.
I ask myself, how can hollywood continually perpetuate that caucasians lived in that part of the world during that era (or even today for that matter), when every historical piece of evidence point to dark skinned people living there for centuries? Because it fits their narrative. No matter how false it is.
If caucasians cannot live in that part of the world without sunscreen, what makes you think that they would have lived in that part of the world thousands of years ago.
This is the reason why the Iraq museum was pillaged. It was well documented that that museum contained historical artifacts that dated to African dynasties. One of the pieces was a bust of what Moses looked like. A dark skinned man with extremely curly hair. Sound African to me!

I agree 99%. The 1% issue: the ancient Egyptians were NOT "Middle Eastern". They were Black as demonstrated over and over by Black intellectuals for about 2 and a half centuries. So I agree white washing is problem, but the cast should be an all-Black cast (preferably including continental African actors).
After, the greek historian Herodotus (who interacted with ancient Egyptians) said that: "they are Black in complexion and kinky-haired" (Herodotus 2.104)
