Neverending Nightmares is a short but memorably ambigous tale that is more about mind's nightmarish ruminations than monsters (although it has those too). The branching paths are great but are not about finding a happy ending, much more ambiguous and therefore true to horror. The sibling relationship and commentary on mental disorders is refreshing.

Silence of sleep is from far the best game. Only made by one person but really entertaining.
