I replaced a 1st gen fire with an first gen hd; gave 1st gen fire to my daughter who was using a nook. Her husband "adopted " it & is living happlie ever after! Mean while the nook died (battery) & only works on life support (plugged info power source)....how sad! Maybe next time she'll buy a fire!

There wasn't enough difference between old and new to justify the high price of the new one. (Specifically, the voyage)
