I don't think the stein is responsible for the drinking problem in Perth. To my knowledge there's only one pub in Perth that sells steins and it's pretty quiet. The problem is the nanny state mentality.

One litre is not the same as two pints ta fools a pint is 600ml a litre is 1000 ml get your measures right.
