Simply put, if I only ever had the original Star Wars Trilogy to survive on for the rest of my life, if be perfectly happy. However, If I never got to see another new Tarantino, I'd be sad. Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, & Jackie Brown are all masterpieces (I even like Four Rooms which he co-directed), but a life without the Kill Bills and Inglorious Basterds is not worth living. I want him to keep making movies more than I want more Star Wars.

I love movies, but I love "movie-going" even more. And no other movie series in my lifetime has brought me better movie-going experiences that STAR WARS. I saw A NEW HOPE on my 9th birthday in 1977 in a now-bulldozed movie palace in Kansas City. Happiest day of my young life. I took a city bus from the burbs to downtown KC to see EMPIRE STRIKES BACK. My friends and I celebrated the last day of junior high by going to see the first possible matinee of RETURN OF THE JEDI on its release day.

When the original trilogy was re-released in the late 90s, a large group of us purchased tickets for the prime showtimes to enjoy the movies all over again with like minded movie lovers. I even clapped at the end of A NEW HOPE and I don't clap at movies!

When the prequels were released, I was lucky enough to score screening tickets to see it three weeks before it opened. And for the final two films, my adult friends purchased our tickets in advance and showed up hours ahead of the start time to secure good seats and share the experience together with complete strangers.

Although I am not a huge fan of the prequels, I am so glad that I was there to share the experience with other movie fans. Sitting in the auditorium on opening night can elevate a mediocre film to higher levels (as I remember loving PHANTOM MENACE upon first viewing).

All that said, STAR WARS EPISODE VII is the hands down, no-brainer for 2015.

Are you kidding me ? I mean ARE YOU KIDDING ME ? How could you ? What hellish hole of hopelessness and malefic malice have you been drawing your inspiration from to come up with this soul-crushing death match ? My heart lies in tatters and I am left a shell of a man.

It's like you're asking me to choose between two children, or two close friends. Oh Sophie, how I feel your pain.

Star Wars is the one I grew up with, the amazing friend who forever changed my world and introduced me to a universe of wonder and awe. Its characters are dear to me and I will probably never stop wishing I was a jedi. for Yoda's sake, it gave us Darth Vader ! Granted, the sequels were mostly disappointing and sometimes heart-wrenching. But the idea of a new trilogy, without Lucas behind the wheel ? A brand new cast, with new jedis, new siths, new battles and the return of the falcon ? With J.J. Abrams and Rian Johnson at the helm ? The teaser alone was enough to almost give me a heart attach from the excitement.

So why did you have to make me choose between it and Avengers ? Avengers is like the cool new guy at school. He's oh so witty, utterly awesome, good looking and great at sports, but he also has a true heart. Also, he has a ton of amazing relatives, like that Winter Soldier guy we met last year. I have been waiting for the second installment for almost two years and can't wait to listen to Iron Man's quips or to watch the Hulk smash something. And that's without even mentioning the glee I get from watching familiar comic book characters finally brought to the big screen in all their deserved glory. You would make me forgo Ultron and the Scarlet Witch and whoever else may appear for the first time ?

Apparently you would, cruel monsters that you are. And so, I am forced to choose and vote for my first love, Star Wars, emboldened by the new hope that in this return of the jedis the magic of the first trilogy will be revived.

    Star Wars. Redeem thyself.

  • Chris from PA - 9 years ago

This took a lot of thought, and I'm going with The Hateful Eight. While I like both Whedon and Abrams and I think they are great directors, they both have certain mythologies they have to operate within with these franchises, while Tarantino does not, and he is one of the most exciting directors out there.

  • Ross Bonaime - Fredericksburg, Virginia - 9 years ago

I'll see anything that Quentin Tarantino wants to give me - especially with that cast - and even though I've been sour on Marvel films for quite some time, the franchise is finally at an all time high with Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy. Yet even though I didn't grow up with Star Wars (I don't think I saw my first film until I was almost in my teens), something about the way that the series has grown into our culture's infrastructure has given me a deep affection for it. As a devoted fan of Lost and a big fan of all of J.J. Abrams' films so far, I was very excited to see him take over the reins, with the cast reveal only furthering my excitement with some of the best actors of today, mixed with the old crew. Yet it wasn't until I saw the teaser that I realized just how much I was anticipating this film. Even though I watched the teaser on my iPhone in my car, it still choked me up. This was the film I had been waiting for, a combination of great team behind the camera and in front, mixed with the series I had always enjoyed, yet never found more than a fond admiration for. Even though I didn't love Star Wars as a child, now I'm finally feeling the excitement for this film that kids must've felt back in 1977.

    Star Wars all the way.

  • Chris Massa - 9 years ago

The first Avengers movie didn't really work for me, so I don't have much interest in seeing a second one. The Star Wars trailer looks pretty good, but so did the trailer for The Phantom Menace, so that doesn't mean very much, and I admit that the prequel trilogy did a pretty good job of sapping any Star Wars enthusiasm I had. The clear winner for me SHOULD be The Hateful Eight, but I ending up voting for Star Wars anyway. The reason being that, if I only see one movie this year, it's almost certain that my wife will be seeing it with me, and since there's absolutely no chance that I'll succeed in dragging her to a Quentin Tarantino film, I'd rather see something I'm lukewarm on than nothing at all. Star Wars it is!

  • Sean Lass - 9 years ago

I'm sure Avengers will be fine, like the first one. I'll admit the Star Wars trailer did somewhat awaken my long dormant Star Wars fandom, but I'm iffy on Abrams after Star Trek Into Darkness, which I think we can all agree was a terrible film. I'm not looking forward to seeing some "clever" reworking of "I've got a bad feeling about this" or "I am your father." Besides, if I were to miss it, I'm sure I wouldn't have to work hard to find out what I missed so I can be caught up for the Rian Johnson one. But then you tell me that possibly my favorite current director will be returning to my absolute favorite genre, and shooting it in 70mm. This deathmatch is already over before I even get to the fact that The Hateful Eight is the only film of the three to star Kurt Russell, which is a knockout punch if ever I've seen one. Nice try, guys. Maybe if Mad Max had made the list this would actually be a challenge.

  • Stig - 9 years ago

I wasn't even sure if I remembered correctly that Hateful Eight actually was the new Tarantino-movie, but still voted for it. Not a big fan of him, but I have already seen to many generically "awesome" superhero movies in my short life.

  • It has to be Star Wars. Yes, I loved the first Avengers, and while the sequel has the potential to be great, I'll always have the original to rewatch. I was also a big fan of Tarantino's last 2 movies, so I'm eagerly anticipating The Hateful Eight -- BUT (using an Adam-worthy technicality) I'm going to forgo the film and reserve the right to read the leaked script instead. That brings us to Star Wars... Even though I'm not a Star Wars nut (I did grow up with the original trilogy and still find the first two incredibly watchable), this franchise has the potential for an explosive redemption. What if, after George Lucas's creative implosion that was the prequel trilogy, Stars Wars could be fun, exciting, and inspiring again? What if a Star Wars movie could feel alive again? What if the Force truly awakened again? Would any true genre fan really give up the chance to witness that? No, not for Whedon or Tarantino.

  • Daniel B - 9 years ago

    Jerks.

Tarantino's 'The Hateful Eight' will be the 'best' of the three, no doubt.
But another western so soon after Django does not leave me wanting. I wasn't on board for a fair amount of Unchained.

JJ's Star Wars, aka Star Trek re-skinned doesn't float my Millennium Falcon either.

However Avengers 2 with James Spader reprising his role of impotent robot (in the form of Ultron) beating up attractive people with nice hair and a seemingly unlimited supply of protein powder seems like the summer blockbuster that I can get better. Go Ultron!

  • James McKinley (Indianapolis, IN) - 9 years ago

This is an easy answer for me. The first Avengers was overrated and extremely boring, and the trailers prove that nothing new (or different) will be shown.

As for QT, it hurts me to say this as a HUGE fan, but it seems that his movies are now starting to become repetitive in style and, unfortunately, dialogue. The great dialogue that made him so unique in the movies Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, and Inglorious Basterds has fallen completely flat in movies like Kill Bill and Django Unchained.

The clear winner here is Star Wars for me. I have not been a Star Wars fan ever (I find episodes 4-6 EXTREMELY boring and episodes 1-3 just terrible, terrible in every way possible). Having said that, I was never a Star Trek fan either until the capable hands of JJ Abrams became attached (camera flares aside). If Abrams can do for Star Wars what he did for Star Trek, then I am all in, and may even try to watch the previous six films.

Great job on the show! Love every second of it!

It’s a hard choice, but since you didn’t include my most anticipated 2015 event movie, that would be George Miller’s motor oil opera Mad Max: Fury Road, I’m going to have to go with “The Hateful Eight.”

I was personally mixed on Tarantino’s previous western, but a few things about the picture, more specifically the way it’s being presented that excite me. Firstly is that it’s being shot in 70mm. I’ve become mildly addicted to large format photography thanks to my local IMAX and the Music Box’s annual 70mm festival, and while I’ve not always loved the images Tarantino and Robert Richardson produce, the idea of seeing another new 70mm film so soon after The Master, and in Cinemascope no less is plenty exciting. Then there’s the idea that the film will tour in a roadshow format, something I’ve personally never experienced, I don’t even really know what that means outside of getting fancy programs and having to sit through an overture but film going is supposed to be an adventure.

As for the other films, I used to be a huge Whedon fan, but my increasing apathy for the Marvel universe hasn’t taken a break just because Whedon is back in the hot seat. Maybe it’s because the trailers look unbearably generic, but maybe it’s because I’ve realized that as much as I’ve enjoyed Whedon’s TV writing, he’s not enough of a visualst to cut it in the blockbuster game and he’s never going to be given real creative control over an increasingly mechanized and timid franchise that after 9 (released) films have only managed perhaps 1 or 2 iconic sequences.

As for Star Wars, It seems like a slam dunk. Even in his weakest films J.J. Abrams always brings the stakes and he’s a talented stylist with a good sense of showmanship. But for some reason I’m not feeling it yet. Part if it is probably a subconscious response, I still love the three originals but I was burned with the prequels and don’t want to let myself get too excited. But the other part is Abrams himself, I’m personally annoyed that someone with his talents has spent his entire filmmaking carrier working on other peoples brands. Even Super 8, his only original film, owes such a debt to Spielberg’s early work that it’s dangerously close to a ripoff. He’ll probably make a very good Star Wars movie, likely better than anything we’ve gotten since the originals but I’d rather see him stop acting like a journeyman and mastermind his own franchise.

  • Chris G - 9 years ago

My knee jerk reaction was of course Star Wars: The Force Awakens! Then I remembered that my anticipation of Star Wars VII had absolutely nothing to do with seeing a Star Wars movie on the big screen helmed by JJ Abrams. In fact I lost all hope in the franchise years ago, and Abrams's attachment to the new series did nothing to mend reverse that. It was only when the announcement came that Rian Johnson would write and direct the Episode VIII that my spirit was rescued from the bowls of the sarlacc pit.

Abrams could do fine with The Force Awakens. I am certainly rooting for him. But he's also given us enough mixed bags that I remain cautiously optimistic.

Did someone say something about Quentin Tarantino directing Bruce Dern in a western??? Yeah, mark me down for that one.

  • Aren Bergstrom - 9 years ago

Not even a real death match. STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS wins, no contest.

AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON is inconsequential (two more AVENGERS films have already been announced with released dates, so we know that whatever happens in this film will have no real effect on future films, as Marvel wants to make movies for the next 100+ years). Tarantino is always good, but we already had a western from him, so if we don't get to see THE HATEFUL EIGHT, it's not a universal travesty.

STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS, on the other hand, is the answer to the question we have been asking for 30 years but never really thought we'd get an answer to: what happens after RETURN OF THE JEDI? Could you actually go your entire life not knowing what happened to Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Princess Leia after they partied with the Ewoks on Endor, knowing that the answer was out there and that you chose instead to get another Tarantino spaghetti western-flavoured joint or a disposable Marvel cartoon (ahem) live-action film instead of it? I certainly couldn't.

  • Andrew - 9 years ago

Another cruel death match by the Filmspotting crew!

I'm not a diehard Whedon fan, but I enjoy most of his projects, including The Avengers. He got some great laughs out of The Hulk.

Yet, the film geek in me screams for new Tarantino. The Hateful Eight will hands-down be the best Film of the three.

But, I have to choose Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Not just for the nostalgia factor, but because I read this article (http://www.slashfilm.com/star-wars-force-awakens-trailer-special/) before I saw the trailer. The article posits that the SW:TFA trailer is "a unique anomaly in modern movie culture". The franchise has such weight behind it because of the original trilogy, yet with this new installment, we are "totally and utterly ignorant". With the prequel trilogy, we knew who many of the characters were and how they related to each other, but these new episodes are uncharted territory. Surely there will be some familiar faces and characters, but we have no idea what they have been up to for the past thirty years, which makes these new Star Wars films very exciting. I also trust J.J. Abrams (and soon Rian Johnson) way more than George Lucas, with his own beloved universe. Not to mention the joy of taking my 11-year-old daughter with me for this experience.

All that being said, this is an agonizing choice for a movie lover. The only remedy is a mashup of Star Wars and a Western, rolled up in a Whedon vehicle, so maybe we should all go home, watch Firefly, and enjoy a taste of all three.

    Andrew (Chicago, IL)

  • Vanessa V - 9 years ago

I'm a comicbook girl at heart and as such I owe undying allegiance to Marvel but...Tarantino has never let me down. Gotta go with Hateful Eight.

As for SW:TFA.... I've been burned before by that franchise before. Fool me once, I'll keep my time, money and brain cells this go around.

  • Johan Salberg - 9 years ago

This is an easy pick for me.
I dont care for the Marvel-Disney movies and even tough i enjoy them i am not a particular big Star Wars fan
(The fact that episode 3 is my favourite probably says all).

What i do really like is Quentin Tarantino-films. I am a huge Tarantino-buff and love almoust all his movies to death an western-ensemle-dialogue heavy QT-trip sounds like heaven.

  • Chris - 9 years ago

I thought Rian Johnson was directing the new Star Wars? How many of those damn things are coming out?

  • Zane - Chicago, IL - 9 years ago

The only Star Wars releases I've experienced have been the bad ones. Marvel films produce exactly zero feeling in my dark, stone heart. On the other hand, there's this guy called Quentin Tarantino...

  • Kennedy (Vancouver) - 9 years ago

This one bleeds, but in the end, only Star Wars is still standing.

  • Jennifer Eckstein - 9 years ago

Like the others commenting here, I am old enough to have seen every Star Wars film on the big screen. I also have a 5 year old son who discovered Star Wars a year ago and has turned into a huge fan. While I love Tarantino, I am really looking forward to taking my son to HIS first Star Wars big-screen experience. Not only will it be a terrific bonding moment, I'm thrilled to share this cultural mecca with the next generation of fans. The Star Wars release may actually be the highlight of my 2015.

  • Craig - 9 years ago

I am one of the few people who has not seen a single Avengers movie, and so cannot bring myself to care overmuch about skipping "Age of Ultron". Indeed, I am among the stalwart remnant who have not seen any of the Star Wars prequels, nor even -- though it seems incredible -- can I be sure that I've seen more than the first film in the original trilogy. And so, by process of elimination, I find myself voting for cinema's most talented sadist.

    What a poll!

  • SJ Yeocero - 9 years ago

    The 31-year-old, gainfully employed adult in me just can't care about a sequel to the adequate-at-best Avengers;
    The scrawny 12-year-old nerd in me is super, totes excited about the new Star Wars;
But it is the pretentious 21-year-old college junior film snob in me that wins here. Any new QT film will always jump to the top of my must-see list.

  • As much as James Spader boasting that about not having strings on him anymore has me jonesing for the Age of Ultron, I am anxiously awaiting the days when Joss Whedon returns to creating his own universes. Star Wars might be a cultural event, but I've missed out on cultural events before (Titanic and Avatar, I'm looking at you) and truth be told, I'm much more excited about Rian Johnson's episode. Quentin Tarantino found an awesome new gear with Inglourius Basterds and Django Unchained. Put Tarantino and that cast together in a Western and the choice has been made for me.

  • David Enna - 9 years ago

Of course it would have to be the Star Wars film, even if it possibly could be horrible. I only say that because of the recent track record, but we know JJ Abrams and we know that The Force Awakens won't suck and in fact will probably be close to excellent, or better. Gotta trust JJ.

  • Finn Frode - 9 years ago

Easyest poll ever. The Avengers, the sequel to a 17 years old Movie version of an old 60s british TV series. If at least it has been The Saint... Star Wars, come on I have not yet at the urge to see the two latest Star Wars movie, so why run to see this one? Tarantino, yes parhaps this is his fourth masterpiece (after Dogs, Brown and Barsterds). I go for The Hateful Eight for shure.

  • Andrew A (Chattanooga, TN) - 9 years ago

They can all go to hell. I'll be first in line to see Michael Fassbender and Rachel Weisz team up with Derek Cianfrance for The Light Between Oceans.

  • Tim Hammack - 9 years ago

I'm voting for Joss and Ultron. I'm a diehard Marvel and Whedon fan--I know that Age of Ultron will be fun with humor and Marvel's "sentimental popcorn depth". Also, the Star Wars franchise passed me by some years back--too much retinkering by Lucas on the old films, and I'm still disappointed that we never got the sequel to Empire Strikes Back that we really deserved, which the prequels only served to underscore. Beyond that, the prequels answered the questions I had about the mythos, and I feel that's Star Wars' depths have been mined. (Obviously I'm not a diehard Star Wars fan, nor have I read any of the "extended franchise novels". I would bet that Tarentino's movie will be the best produced (in terms of story nuance and technique)--and maybe Tarentino shouldn't even be in same category as two major popcorn franchises), but Ultron is my must see "Popcorn Spectacle"--such that I wish I had a time machine to pop forward to May 1 right now! --Tim (St Louis, Missouri)

  • kadajawi - 9 years ago

Difficult one. I love Star Wars, and JJ Abrams audition tapes for Star Wars (Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness) are promising good stuff (the first movie really was a Star Wars movie with Star Trek characters)). I also like most of Tarantino's work. But at this point I have seen everything in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, all the movies, all the TV shows, and I will continue to watch them all. How can I leave off a big part of the franchise? Surely that is going to influence what is going on in Agents of Shield...

  • Josh Rosenfield - 9 years ago

The only one I'm really not looking forward to is the Tarantino. I'm ambivalent about him doing another Western rather than moving on to something new. I'm sure it'll be good, but it's not really what I want to see from him right now.

Speaking of which, as excited as I am for Avengers 2, I have my doubts that it'll be wildly divergent from the other Marvel movies. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it bumps this film down the list for me. So the obvious choice is Star Wars. If nothing else, I want to see what a Star Wars film looks like in 2015. The teaser trailer from a few months ago showcases a 70s/80s sci-fi aesthetic combined with Abrams' flashy action camera-work. It might not be the best film of the three, but it's the one that intrigues me the most. Plus, come on, it's Star Wars.

  • David Spencer - 9 years ago

Listening from Los Angeles (formerly Alaska).

I've been a Star Wars fan all my life, it has contributed to my identity more than almost anything else, so my answer is easy...Avenger's Age of Ultron. Star Wars is starting over attempting to break new ground, and that is something that always poses a massive crutch to any franchise, while Marvel movies have finally thrown it off, each film doing newer and more interesting things, each one better than the last. Whedon is on this film from the start meaning it will have so much more room for him to play and not be weighed down by the need to shackle all these gods. Marvel is so much more assured of this film, while Star Wars went through some major script problems with the writer changes and disagreements, and Abrams has never been my taste. However, do this again in two years when it's Rian Johnson's Star Wars against Avengers Infity Wars, I'm going to have a much harder time choosing.

  • Patricia, Portland, OR - 9 years ago

George Lucas so ruined Star Wars with the prequels that I never even watched the third one. Quentin Tarantino's films are slow/gratuitously violent. That leaves me with the Avengers.

  • Keith Garlington - 9 years ago

For me this wasn't a difficult choice at all. "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" is one Marvel movie that I'm incredibly excited for and despite my lukewarm relationship with Tarantino and his films, he always makes movies worth talking about. But neither of these have left an indelible mark on my life like "Star Wars". Growing up I had Star Wars everything - figures, vehicles, lightsabers, blasters, comics, lunchboxes, PJs, storybooks. You name it.

But what I cherish most is how Star Wars introduced me to the magic of movies. As a kid I saw the original trilogy during its first theatrical release. Simply put, I was amazed. It was Star Wars that opened up my young eyes to this imaginative and immersive medium. Star Wars planted the seeds for what grew into the unbridled passion I have for movies today. Over the years my love for the franchise has evolved, but it hasn't diminished one bit. And while there are reasons to be cautious about a new chapter, it's still Star Wars and I'm all in.

  • Larry in Austin - 9 years ago

The clear choice is Tarantino, who consistently puts out quality, true to his vision. Sorry Star Wars fans, but the odds are against you: a franchise with a 50% hit rate at best; a story, which was fresh four decades ago, now seems trite; a movie studio more interested in business results than compelling story-telling; and (do I even have to say it?) it’s a freaking sequel. I would bet the entire Filmspotting coffers that, at the end of the day, Episode 7 will go down in history as just another quickly-forgotten CGI extravaganza.

  • Bryan Hayes - San Diego, CA - 9 years ago

My choice is Tarantino. Having no real investment in the Avengers franchise, I'm torn between childhood favorites and adult indulgences. But while Tarantino's worst work is still enjoyable, there lays a distinct possibility that the new Star Wars and the hype around it will be nothing but a hurricane of nostalgia. I'm banking on Tarantino being as clever and inventive as he always is. And I'm hoping that the Hateful Eight will become a vehicle to the big screen for Justified star Walton Goggins.

  • Jonathan - 9 years ago

    You guys are awful.

I should say The Hateful Eight, and I'm sure at the end of the year it will be the best movie of these three. But I have an investment in the Avengers as characters that has me extremely antsy to see Age of Ultron on a level that Hateful Eight can't get to.

I'll see The Force Awakens but it's not even in my top ten most anticipated blockbusters of the year, let alone movies period. Mad Max: Fury Road and Jurassic World are way ahead of it.

  • Gonna have to go with Tarantino here. I'm as excited for the new "Star Wars" as the next person, but Tarantino has yet to make a film that I haven't loved, so another western from him (in 70mm, no less!) is an easy win. As for "Avengers 2": I'll see it, I'll probably enjoy it, but it's hard to get too fired up about another Marvel movie when there are approximately 7,384 of them coming out in the next three years.

  • Rui - Portugal - 9 years ago

I have to choose Star Wars.
I've never been blown away by any of Tarantino's movies (I like his style, but I'm mostly indiferent), and I'm not feeling anything for The Hateful Eight.
I'm a bit tired of the Marvel movie thing, so I'll definetly skip Avengers.
However, I am exited about the new Star Wars. I'm not a fanboy by any means, but since I haven't watched any movie of the "saga" in theaters, I might as well just take the oportunity.

  • Andy from Chicago - 9 years ago

You're asking me to choose between two multi-billion dollar commercial franchises and the latest film from one of my favorite living filmmakers? Easiest poll question ever, sirs.

  • Noam R - Larchmont, NY - 9 years ago

This question wasn't quite so agonizing as some of your past have been. Right off the bat I can rule out Tarantino's film. His work has felt less and less inspired as time has worn on, and frankly I'm just a little burnt out on his characters' never-ending cleverness. Between Avengers and Star Wars though, I felt at first that Avengers would be the safer choice as a movie I would enjoy, but in the end it really comes down to what Adam said: one can't really miss out on a new Star Wars. I mean, come on. It's Star Wars.

  • Henrik Hansen - 9 years ago

First off, I hate you. I have been looking forward to seeing each of these movies passionately. How dare you make me choose.
O.K. That's off my chest. Actually, it's a pretty easy decision. I've seen Whedon direct the Avengers already, and I've seen Tarantino's approach to a Western, too. I've never seen Abrams let loose in the Star Wars universe, so that's my pick.

  • Gregory - 9 years ago

I hate to take advantage of a semantic loophole. Nevertheless, on the podcast Adam posed the poll question as, "You can only see one of these films in 2015..." (Perhaps a slip of the tongue, but I'm going to focus on the "IN 2015.") Since Star Wars is set for a December 18 release and The Hateful Eight has a November 13 release date, I can confidently say I'd rather put off Star Wars for 2 weeks than put off The Hateful Eight for 7 weeks before watching it in 2016. That said, if all three movies were released at the same time over the summer, my pick would be Star Wars.

  • Brian Finch - 9 years ago

I am a bit incredulous that this is an actual poll questions. Who the hell would pick a movie other than Star Wars? Also, the new Tarnatino movie doesn't feel like it belongs in this question, but rather an afterthought to appease those who are uninterested in a awesome films involving the Millennium Falcon.
Don't take me wrong, I love Quent, but his film is not going to be a blockbuster, and it is not science fiction, and is not considered nerdy (though Star Wars and the Avengers are no long nerdy, but part of the social zeitgeist), and I doesn't belong on this list.

  • Sam Vargen - Martinez, CA - 9 years ago

I probably AM only going to see one of these and that's The Hateful Eight. I'm 18 so I didn't really grow up with Star Wars (at least not the originals) and have never had the affinity for it that so many do. And I don't know about you guys but I think these Marvel movies have overstayed their welcome. I'm not convinced I'm gonna love Quentin's next movie but I'm always looking forward to whatever he does, so bring on The Hateful Eight!

  • Jack D - 9 years ago

I've been waiting 32 years to watch the Millennium Falcon fly again. Plus, George Lucas' recent quote of regret is the exact reason why it's good he didn't direct: he never experienced the phenomenon of being blown away watching the movie. So, let's get a director who was blown away, to try to replicate our first experience with Star Wars!
