Which Villains Series Comic Are You Most Looking Forward to Reading?

Wow, removing this poll and quickly replacing it with a retarded one isn't the wisest way to apply damage control, Sethisto.

I assume Hasbro and IDW got furious and ordered you to get rid of the "insulting" poll?

With Fimfiction & Deviant art / Derpibooru who needs comic books?

  • Chokito - 9 years ago

I don't buy the comics because neither the writers, artists and IDW editor seem to care anymore.

And if they don't care, why should I care for them?

I have a job but I'm not paid "just because", I get paid because I earn my paycheck.

So I don't buy comics "just because", I only buy comics that deserve my money.

Aww Tirek is so low :(

WHAT??? "I don't read the comics" is getting top vote!?
SOMEBODY KILL ME, I LOST THE WILL TO LIVE!!!

  • Tavilicious - 9 years ago

It seems that IDW chose well as there seems to be almost identical levels of interest in all their villain issues (Tirek being the strange exception).

Certainly something I am looking forward to reading.

Wait... So you're telling me that the only MLP comic that I own is apparently one of (if not the) the worst arcs released? Well considering I really, really like Reflections, I'll probably just love the rest of the comics if they're better.

Screw the comics, ever since that holiday disappointment, I'd say stay as far away as possible. Besides, what they write in comics doesn't become canon.

    Start reading people, damnit!
I'm voting for Sombra... i want to know more about his past. Even tho i know kind of enough of him thanks to that comic arc.

  • Joshua - 9 years ago

I had a hunch the option "I don't read the comics" would get the highest rating after Katie Cook's two "abominations" of comics.

While I still am voting Chrysalis, there are some concerns about her issue that, well, have me concerned:

I mean, again, I don't want to paraphrase Charlie Sheen here but: these guys can can shapeshift, they invade and conquer kingdoms, but for some reason, they can't get past a freakin' door? I know they had troubles with the password, but are they so unintelligent they couldn't have solved in it this time period and just sat there doing nothing? Or hell, why wouldn't they just blast their way out? Or is it less on ordinary door but many of their own magical doors turned against them by Mane Six?

And there's also some potential grimdark confusion here because let's look at the time: considering the shorter time frame within the show's world (season 1 to the beginning of 4 were about a year), I'd say it's only been about a number of months, but still, from what we saw, Chrysalis and her soldiers' weren't left with anything to eat, so wouldn't they have starved to death long before now?

And then there's the question as to WHY Twilight and co. would visit her. What could they possibly want from her or need from her? And it's not like she'd ever help them, unless if it was something of a full pardon or parole. Or maybe Celestia's just looking to get Chrysalis to fully surrender or form truce after letting her stew for a bit. After all, Chrysalis' would bust out eventually at some point, and the cycle would start over again, so maybe Celestia wants to end it here and now.

I just... I just fear that the issue might end up, if handled wrong, just raising a lot more questions that I somehow doubt they're gonna answer. I know we need a reason to get them together, and I appreciate the callback to the first arc, but I just hope they address or acknowledge some of these issues instead of glazing over them.

I don't buy the comics anymore because the artists, writers and the editor itself turned out to be a bunch of assholes, and I'm not the kind of person who gives money to assholish people.

If anything, I download the free scans just to see if the comic ever improves, but I'm not wasting any money on IDW's stuff anymore.

    And basically, that's all.

  • Bluesummers - 9 years ago

There are so many fanon stories of Chrysalis' origins...I'm really excited to see which, if any, are deemed canon.

  • Sparrow - 9 years ago

Just sayin', all of you should totally read the comics cause they're fantastic. Even if you don't have a comic shop near you/comic shop doesn't offer MLP/You can't be bothered to buy them online, IDW has them all available for purchase digitally.

I'm looking forward to the Sombra one most, because hopefully it'll make him an actual character

  • D00mGUY - 9 years ago

They made celestia the cause for the whole conflict and made her seem like a whiny selfish teenager rather than the wise powerful being that she is.

And she even went so far as to write that Celestia was responsible for Luna becoming nightmare moon.

They gave her literally two panels of bad assert before snubbing her to being a damsel who needed saving by her "man".

The shipping was totally unnecessary and completely stupid and forced. (Yes it was a big reason I didn't like it, call me a waifufag I don't give a shit)

And overall it was a really bad romance fix and the romance was the only aspect that cook put any effort into. She was more concerned with snubbing Celestia's character and sort of taking a shot at celestia fans by shipping her with some disgustingly perfect Gary stu. It's like she was calling us pathetic losers.

Cook wrote once she doesn't like writing celestia and likes taking her down. So she shouldn't have been put in charge of this. It was just one big character assasination

And her thin skin and making fun of critics just showed me what kind of people comic fans idolize. It left a bad taste in my mouth. So IDW lost me forever and I will encourage people to not support them.

@D00mGUY Alright, I'll bite. What did you not like about the Reflections arc? I personally thought it had the strongest narrative, funniest dialogue and best execution of all the arcs. You have to at least admit it was better than the narrative mess that was the Nightmare Rarity arc.

  • D00mGUY - 9 years ago

Sorry for the harsh words. Reflections just turned me off of the comics.

  • D00mGUY - 9 years ago

I refuse to read the comics after that disgusting reflections arc.

  • Frith - 9 years ago

Ooh! Good poll! Sombra, of course. He's practically a blank slate, as are the crystal ponies.
