I believe students should be required to give their passwords to their parents. Social media tools are used and designed for adult use. I realize that more and more of these tools are exploiting children though that is an entirely different issue. It has been my experience that adults misunderstand and misuse the tools that are currently available. So in my opinion if a parent chooses to allow their child to participate in social media then the student password should be required to be give to their parents.

Likewise if the social media tool is to be used in an educational setting than the password should be given to the institution to monitor the approach use of the tool. I also believe that law enforcement should be allowed to observe any content on the internet including social media. In my opinion if you are going to post something on the internet than it was be the same as standing out on the street and yelling out information. There is no expectation of privacy on a public street. So the internet is public knowledge, if it is posted than it is not private. I have this assumption every time I post something on the internet.
