tommy boy IS NOT the best player ever but he should be considered one of the 5 best qb's ever if not top 3 .6 bowls 4 wins AND those two losses were miracle receptions in the last few minutes of the games after tommy boy gave his team the lead.

Look at the old films. Montana pulled off so many miracles in his two minute drill as to be unbelievable. He gets the nod at QB.
As for best overall player, watch J J Watt for a couple more seasons. He looks like the winner.

NO way Tommy man boy and his coach are know liars and cheaters! Do not tell me he didn't know those balls were under weigh any professional in any sport knows when their instruments are wrong. Ask a pro golfer and pitcher a NASCAR driver. Right now all the disgusting players supporting these two lairs and cheats are only protecting the sport!

Tom Brady is the best quarterback to play football. Joe montanna and other quarterbacks had no competition.

Again to all you who commented that Brady is a cry baby and cheater, that's just jealousy talking! He will be remembered as one of the greatest QB. Let's face it, people always try to tear down someone that is at the top. Sadly thats just the way it is.

Tom Brady is a crybaby for a grown man. And a cheater, for sure. How could a QB not know that the balls were deflated....I'm hoping and praying that he doesn't win the Superbowl. I'm not a Seahawks regular fan but I am on Sunday for the Super Bowl.

Tom Brady is the Best Quarterback of his era without a doubt! Greatest player, I think thats more about position.

  • Drew - 9 years ago

No, if it's super bowl rings doesn't Terry Bradshaw (spell) figure in, Joe Montana?

tom brady crybaby, lacks talent, he is just a stumbling idiot with football, number 12 like that means he is with the worst dozen players in NFL

There is no doubt in my mind that '12' 'T.B.' will end his career as being the 'best of the best player in football's history' .. who knows what the future holds in football history, however, in my life it's '12'. 'T.B.' has plan 'A' in place but he is always always thinking about plan 'B' .. everyone needs to have a plan and be prepared to put your backup plan into play in the event 'A' fails .. he knows the game! at an exceptional level. You can depend on '12' .. has he lost games ... sure he has .. but I have always watched him learn from the loss and usually learning from that .. he has less and less failures ... I admire him on the field and off ... if I had a boy that was interested in the football life .. I certainly would impress my child to watch 'T.B.' as a teacher of the year !! GO PAT'S !!

WHat are you watching? Just last year Brady Vs. Manning broncos up 24-0 at halftime and Patriots win 34-31... this year divisional round vs Ravens down by 14 TWICE and won.....i can get into a lot more but point being your way off base

You're crazy. Brady has more comeback wins than all those qbs... what nfl have you been watching. Please do some research before you post. For god's sake, his nickname was the comeback kid... stupid stupid

I think I like the fact that Darrelle Revis is a Patriot....It was hard to get use to it at first with him being a NY Jet. But don't forget him as the best to mentally impose his will on the receivers technique. Their is just no comparison when looking at the style of play he has elevated the DB's in the league too. From just hard hitting in your face players like Ronnie Lott or Rodney Harrison. I would be hard pressed to pick him or Deion Sanders as the best to ever play the game. He so good you're likely not even gonna get a chance to have him hit you!!

I have to say that there are some awesome quarterbacks. But!!! and I mean but!!! Their play off the field has to have some standing too and Tom Brady is no Roger Staubach, Joe Montana, Brett Favre or Peyton Manning. He can't hold a candle to those guys. Peyton Manning can be down by 20 points and make a comeback and win the game I haven't seen Brady do that. Brady has to be ahead the whole game in order to win a game. He can't win a game in a pinch. He gets flustered and starts losing his wits. I admit he has talent. In my eyes though he will never be among the greats that I believe in. I also think that if Joe Theisman had not had that severely broken leg in the Monday night game on November 18th 1985 I think he would have been the force to be reckoned with. I mean that sound was heard over the sound of the crowd what a tragedy!!!!

Why is it that, when comparing Brady to Montana, that people always mention the 2 Super Bowl losses as demerits against Brady? Do we forget that Montana once lost a home playoff game to an 8 - 7 Vikings team led by QBs Wade Wilson and Tommy Kramer? What about the COMBINED 19 points Montana was able to muster in 3 playoff losses to the Giants?

Does everyone here realize that Tom Brady has only failed to reach the AFC championship game in 4 of his years as starter? Part of the greatness of Tom Brady is that he made it to 2 Super Bowls that he lost. Part of his greatness is that he made it to 3 additional AFC championship games and lost. The losses are high profile, but he takes his team there to the doorstep of greatness almost every year - a far greater rate than Montana did.

If TFB wins his 4th ring Sunday, the conversation is over. Anyone who argues that the SB losses hurt Brady's standing is being illogical.

I thInk tom brady Is a awesome quarterback.....but I mean aaron rodgers Is the best and thats just that poInt blank perIod

To talk about who is the greatest PLAYER ever is more meaningless than talking about who is the greatest QB ever, which is in itself meaningless. BRADY is in the mix and that is all that can be said about any of them.

I'm a dedicated New England Patriots fan and before Tom Brady came along Joe Montana was the best QB ever in my book. I loved me some Joe and watched him play right up to the end of his career. But now I will have to say that Tom has passed Joe by far. Go Pats

  • jay adams - 9 years ago

Brady has had a terrific career and is an outstanding player. Best ever to play the game, period? Sorry, that's silly. When you think of Jim Brown, Otto Graham, Johnny Unitas, Lawrence Taylor...and this hurts to say as a Giant Fan, but Joe Montana, and most especially, Chuck Bednarik...Brady is not in the discussion at that particular level of player. Great payer? Yup. GREATEST player...not a chance.

  • Lisa Hopkins - 9 years ago

I was a huge Joe Montana fan when I was young, and a life time Patriot fan..... but I believe Brady is the best. His record speaks for itself. There may be QB's who pass further, or run better, but Brady is the SMARTEST and knows the game. Along with his talents, I think his brain makes him the best QB ever. Sorry Joe...you were great, too!

  • John - 9 years ago

Brady is good 4 sure, but Joe Montana is by far the greatest QB ever. Brady has a couple loses in the Superbowl, while Joe doesn't. You must ask yourself this question, with less then 2 minutes to go in the Superbowl, who would rather have Joe Montana or Tom Brady? I'm rollin with the one that has done it twice! Joe Montana

Jim Brown is the best football player I ever saw. He is perhaps the greatest athlete I ever saw. A great lacrosse player, a great track and field athlete. He could have excelled--really excelled--at any sport he chose,I think. He was the most punishing runner I've ever seen in football.
