would it be reasonable to have the government create a system in which all affected persons need to create a pin number to go along with their social security numbers,a pin which changes every 3-6 months.and without this pin number the social security number becomes useless, and identity theft is avoided.otherwise what else is there?checking your credit for the rest of your life?

I've already in September 2014 had my credit card fraudulently used so I am very concerned. By Credit card Company called me on a Sat. morning and I called them back and I am now getting 7 years of protection and I can get 2 free credit checks a year from each of the 3 major credit companies for either 5 or 7 years. Now I know that my credit card company watches peoples normal spending in their state. If you go out of state and that's not your normal activity call your credit card company and tell them so they know.
I had my credit card in my wallet and the number was gotten somehow and one of the purchases that they tried to use was over in Africa for Liquor and that was denied. 2 out of 3 were denied in what they tried to purchase.
