In the outpatient setting, when do you typically prescribe Tamiflu?
Any child with confirmed or suspected influenza infection (regardless of time since symptom onset)
Any child with confirmed or suspected influenza infection within the first 48 hours of symptom onset
Any child with influenza infection and is at risk for serious complications
Children with severe infections and are being referred to the hospital for admission
I rarely prescribe Tamiflu for any children as I believe the risks for adverse side-effects outweighs the potential benefit offered to most children
