I have to say you are wrong it has nothing to do with pitting the criminals and in no way victimizes the victims again. I have no pity for murderers but I believe the death penalty is morally wrong. And by the way those victims who think they will feel better after the execution of their loved one's murderer they will find they are wrong about that. In fact most people who have witnessed the execution of their loved one's murderer said they thought they would feel relief after the execution but did not feel any relief at all. I know that if a loved one of mine was murdered I would still be against the death penalty and if I was murdered I would not want my murderer to be executed. And like I said I have not one ounce of pity for murderers but I also believe that the state killing someone makes them such as wrong as murderers. How can we say that murder is wrong by then justifying it by saying that it's justice to kill someone who murders someone? It's called hypocrisy. And what if they find out later that the person they executed turns out to be innocent? It's not a reversible punishment we can't bring them back. But a life sentence can be reversed once it turns out a mistake was made we can let them out of prison. Our legal system is not perfect and innocent people have been executed and will continue to be executed unless we stop doing it. I may not believe in the death penalty but I believe murderers should be given very harsh sentences. They should never get out of prison. And if you think that it's pitying someone to have them locked up for life in prison then you have no clue what it's like to be locked up in prison and never getting out. Time to abolish the death penalty in the United States. We are supposed to be a civilized country and the death penalty makes us uncivilized.

As a murder victim family member I know the death penalty has nothing to do with the healing that is needed when a loved one is killed. It only continues the cycle of violence. My grandmothers death should not be remembered by the killing of someone else. Moratorium YES

Gov. wolf's decision to place a moratorium on the death penalty is The Democratic Way-further victimize the victims & their families and pity the criminals, mocking the decisions of the jury.

Abolish the death penalty! Murder is Murder, no matter how you call it or what names you give it!

Then use a backup. There is no reason. NONE! Why the way of executions vary from state to state anyway.
