Do you think Montana should implement a toll system to help fund highway infrastructure maintenance?

This is absurd. The cost of collecting tolls will far exceed the revenue collected. It would be impossible to find any road in Montana that has a volume of traffic sufficient to make toll collections high enough to cover the costs of building access control connections, toll booths and covering operating expenses.

Gas taxes, on the other hand, are the most efficient tax collection method of any taxes. The distributors of fuel collect the money, and send it to the state. Audits are simple, and everyone pays an amount that is consistent with the amount of miles driven.

One would assume that the proposers of the toll roads are not suggesting that the state gas tax be eliminated in exchange for the new toll tax. So, the users of the toll roads will pay double for the use of the roads.
