What should Fort Lauderdale do with its proposed aquatic center?
Build the project the way it was planned – and make the contractor stick to its guaranteed price.
Make proposed reductions to keep the project under budget, so that the contractor’s increased costs are covered.
Rebid the project and see if the city can’t get a better deal – or maybe a better complex – for the money.
Just fix the 50-year-old facility that is already there and put the rest of the money to better use.
