God created every natural law in the universe - including evolution. I for one will not limit the omniscience of Gods abilities to create in any manner, including a state in time. It simply cannot be known one way or the other, at least in this world. Not only teach them both but other explanations of creation as well, it's part of human history.

Evolution is a fact , DNA proves it as does the fossil record ,They Need to teach exactly what a theory is , A theory is backed by facts. The Scientific method is the way to ferret out the truth. Intellegent Design is a fairy tale. Teach Fairy Tales in creative writing class ,NOT Science Class

Quincy ought to know about a physicist named Friedkin (not at all religious) who, after extensive research said, "In the beginning was information." That's akin to John 1:1 that states: "In the beginning was logos." -- using the original Greek for "In the beginning was the Word." Logos, of course, is the root for our word "logic". Quincy is right to point out the main concern about the Big Bang theory, and that is, at its most simplistic, that there has never been an explanation as to from where came whatever were the particles that collided to make the bang. Ergo, the bang, if such there was, could not have been "in the beginning".

Next poll: do you think the stork theory of birth or the leprechaun theory of rainbows should be taught in schools?

Whether it be intelligent design, big bang Darwinism, creation, etc--they are all theories! A theory is a supposition or a system of ideas intended to explain something. Nobody knows, nor will they ever know, how life came to be on this planet. A well taught student is taught how to think through to solutions along with receiving a well rounded education.
