No this is not a good trade. Its bad for the Eagles, its bad for Chip Kelly, and its bad for McCoy. He could good 2,000 yards next year, which he wont because Buffalos offensive line isnt half what the Eagles in was when healthy, and it would be overshadowed by a 9-7 record. I highly doubt the Bills will make the playoffs, let alone contend for a superbowl while Mccoy is there. My uncle told me the other day that "Buffalo is where careers go to end". He was probably right.
On the Chip Kelly end of the stick he has betrayed the city of Philadelphia. LeSean McCoy is the most, or rather was the most loved player in Philly. I cant tell you how many times I heard Merril Reese's iconic voice chant "Touchdown Shady McCoy. Check out the Eaglestalk twiter conversations. People are really mad. They display comments on Sportsnet Central at the bottom of the screen during the show and I didnt see one positive comment. There were quite a few calls to fire Chip Kelly. Countless comments saying "I used to have faith in Chip but im starting to think hes insane". Hes become an self assured hand grenade that exploded a few days ago with the failure to resign Jeremy Maclin and obviously the McCoy trade. His NFL career will end next year if the Eagles dont make the playoff. Quite Frankly I cant wait. I lost faith when he cut DeSean Jackson with his ridiculous "gang affiliation" excuse. He couldnt even man up and say he didnt like him.
Chip Kelly is a blatant Nepotist. After this year I wouldnt be surprised if the Eagles look exactly like the 2012 Oregon Ducks minus the winning record. There are 9 Oregon ducks on te Eagles now with the addition of Alonso. Kiko Alonso is no where near as valuable as LeSean McCoy. If there were any hopes of trading up in the draft for Marcus Mariota I think its safe to say that with the departure of LeSean McCoy, Tent Cole, Brandon Graham (who is way under rated. He is an amazing run stopped.), and JEREMY MACLIN there is nothing left to tradewith. If we offered McCoy, Foles and our 1st round pick the Bucs would probably be happy. QB filled, RB filled and a picm of their choosing. Id say thats worth just Mariota. For sure. Chip Kelly has failed to progress yet he thinks he can give away 4 of the best players on his team, including the best RB of 2013 and contend for a super bowl? If he believes that hes even more overly confident in his naive idiocy than I want to believe.
It is a good idea because of his attitude, contrasts with Chip Kelly's philosophy. Free agency market is very good for running backs and there is also the draft to pull from.
