Karyn Greer's departure

Unfortunately, she is a casualty of budget cutting. Once you get into that high dollar salary and ratings start to fall they find you a liability not an asset. Broadcasting is a cruel field. You have to make your money and plan to be replaced after about 10-15 years. No different in the professional sports field. It does not matter how good you are at a job it is all about the $$$.

Best news team ever = Karyn Greer and Walt Macaborski. I could watch them for hours. They just clicked together.

WXIA seems to be doing things "on the cheap" now. Hullinger does both news and sports and is not very good at either one. Veteran people have left and have not been replaced. Their news operation is more like a public access station than a professional, big city affiliate.

I gave Vinnie over three weeks, and I just can not tolerate his indifference to many life situations that use to be covered, and now sound sensationalized (CNN all over again) more than necessary. The change to Wake up with Chesley and early mornings has not been one that someone in the mature age group is finding very professional and indeed lacking in good journalism. Jaye Watson shows the tender side that Karyn Greer always gave, but the smile and subtle humor can not be replaced.
Not only did I have to revert to listening to the radio in the morning again, but I no longer can watch evening news either,. The 7pm was the only local information on at that time; you see, many of us are still stuck in the traffic and never get home until 7 pm. I really do not think that the changes made have won over many viewers, and really would be surprised if you loose many in the great scheme of things.
I definitely have begun the search for a news channel... Jeff, I will say that I do enjoy hearing you again!

It seems like it's time for us viewers to make a change as well, to another station....11Alive forces out their well respected & highly talented journalists with no regard for viewers or the contributions made by those journalist in the community. Karyn can do better than 11Alive.

I will really miss Karen, strike that, I've missed Karen. I don't like Vinnie or the new weather-ish person Tracy. Karen was a nice calm in the morning, kept you informed, but wasn't over the top crazy like Vinnie.

What a loss for Atlanta!! I have not watched 11 Alive since Vinnie has arrived. He is awful and I am not the only one who feels that way. The whole vibe has changed since Vinnie arrived and not in a good way. I know Karyn will land somewhere bigger and better! So long 11 Alive!!

Karen Hren has always been a refreshing communicator at the station. Informative, engaging, pleasant, concerned and involved in giving back. It's 11alives loss. Vinnie doesn't offer concern and his wit is very off . We LOVE Karen and will miss her dearly.
