I think the main threat from pakistan is their terrorists and nukes. Any time the terrorists can capture their nukes, if the nukes went on the hands of terrorists it will be a grave danger for india and western countries. My opinion is first we must ready and deploy our Ballistic Missile Defense System in all major cities as soon as possible. After that we should use our intelligence agencies against pakistan by supplying armed weapons to their balochistan seperatists and stimulate them against their country. Already balochistan people asking seperate nation. We should seperate pakistan balochistan by triggering these seperatists like what they(pakistan) trying to do in kasmir. If we succeeded, pakistan will loose economically their army man power will reduce and their sea support will end. totally complete destroy and destruction of pakistan. Also china's string of pearl on indian ocean will end......
India has more to loose if it goes into a full scale war with Pakistan! It is quite clear that Pakistan does not want peace with India. The best thing that India should do is to break off all diplomatic ties with Pakistan until they meet the demands already spelt out many times by successive governments regarding pak sponsored terrorism. India should take proactive measures to further strengthen the borders and deal effectively with infiltrators. All pro pakis in Kashmir should be disenfranchised and sent across the border to POK. Special status of J& K to be repealed and the state to be fully integrated with rest of India. Every act of terrorism must be replied with really hurting counter measures and preemptive strikes.
I think we should form a tri command centre like pentagon in India.....and go for covert operations, where we kill all people who plot for wrong doing in many counties.....rather than going for war and killing thousands of innocent citizen and our army men.....It will help to keep ourself diplomatic in nature....and work for peace keeping and maintain our nations pride.....which our ancestors left for us

Make in India policy is not going to work in the defence sector. It is unfortunate that majority of the Defense officers have no clear idea about our actual defence requirements and do not know what is happening in the world. The defence policies followed by all the previous Governments were to make this country one of the biggest military powers in the world and not a developed country like Japan, South Korea, Australia and Canada. “The Indian Navy is one of the largest in the world, and as of 2014 possesses two aircraft carriers, one amphibious transport dock, 9 Landing ship tanks, 9 destroyers, 15 frigates, one nuclear-powered attack submarine, 14 conventionally-powered attack submarines, 25 corvettes, 7 mine counter-measure vessels, 10 large offshore patrol vessels, 4 fleet tankers and various auxiliary vessels and small patrol boats.” Despite this, the Navy failed to prevent the 2008 terrorist attack. They have also not been able to warn our fishermen about straying into enemy waters and getting arrested by Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh etc. What useful purpose are our Navy personnel serving for the country? Except giving employment to so many people, majority of these equipments are not required to fight a naval war against China or Pakistan. Without a permanent base in the Indian Ocean China cannot attack India. Only USA and Western countries are still spreading rumors against China, so that they can sell their defense equipments to India. Indian Navy fought the 1971 war without submarine. First the navy personals should know how to use the submarines in the coastal areas. Otherwise the collision of submarine and fishing vessels will increase. More over China may require more submarines to fight against USA to recapture Taiwan .Navy submarine INS Sindhughosh collides with fishing boat, suffers periscope damage.

India is a developing nation. Pakistan is down in a shit-hole. All we need to do is wait. They will kill themselves. My dear Vinay I like your views and also your view of taking PoK and I'll support that too because by taking back PoK Pak will lose its terror breeding ground.But you say that we shouldn't go to war cause we are lacking in money but not at all.We have sufficient money to carry out attacks against them without much financial loss.Remember India is no more poor;it has crossed poverty line;Also its economy growth to speed up by 8% by 2017.Can you imagine what will be our power by then in just 2 years.Compare ours to Pak's,They are more than beggers.In 1971 war they just got F***** away even though they were supported by America,Canada infact the whole NATO countries.Taking 1971 example we can just block the Karachi port with out INS Arihant,INS Kolkata,and our pride INS Vikramaditya.In that case they will have no option but to surrender.All will be over within 4 days or less.They are more than cowards as cowards can only use terror to fight and kill civilians.
Besides I believe our army is the best in the world.In 1965 Pakistan Failed to capture Kashmir even though they were supported by NATO by Titanium tanks,recoilless guns etc. Infact they lost grounds to us.Oh it was also the aftermath of 1962 Indo-China war.So you see how powerful our army is at present.They can never defeat us.

1-India should be prepared for war
But also try to avoid it because today india is weak from economical and development point and working hard to become a developed nation. 2- India should start to manufacture or deploy hi-tech warfare weapons and most important that India should start to deploy its AAM and AAD missile all over to cover India from nuclear attack because we cannot trust nuclear pak.
3-Its hard to fight enemies when they are inside your home.

5-Then start a full scale war with pak or if try to retaliate with nuclear nukes

I am a resident of J&K and only we know what troubles are created by Pakistan. Last year on Diwali, all of you were in your home and celebrate diwali, but we were in Army Relief Camp because there was so heavy firing on International Border with mortars having range of 5-6 km. My home is 5 km away from International Border and 5 persons were died in my village because they were hit by pakistani mortars and fires. Thanks to our INDIAN ARMY which is always ready for our help. After some days when Modi Govt. give full orders to ARMY and BSF, there was very heavy firing on Border by India and we destroy 38 posts of pakistan and 15 persons were killed by Indian firing. After that 3 months went very peacefully. At that time there was a mobilization of about 50,000 indians from their border villages to ARMY Camps.
But this is not enough. This year january pakistan again starts heavy firing. Again people left their homes to safe places. Only one thing can stop this. A Full Scale War against Pakistan. So that we can sleep peacefully.

If focus is going to shift towards us from afganistan i think we should use our
good time and resources towards better planning for the ongoing investment

Full scale war will never be a solution. Pakistan is a state which will deteriorate and vanish into air on its own(With out any need for external intervention). All india has to do ensure no harm happens from the tyrannical state and wait till in patience for the slow death of its neighbour. Rather India needs to grow as a world power (in terms of military, economy, standard of living, social harmony,...) and ensure that they are always looked upto as a great example of good governing policies and great growth.

India should have a full scale war with Pakistan to end all issues once and for all. Just like the US slapped Japan so hard that it is now forced to make peace like a loyal dog the same way India should act.
