Here is why I voted yes, and I am on the conservative side of things. Many gripe (including me) about able bodied folks being on assistance. Why not spend a LOT less to get some of these folks high school educated so they can get a job or go to college, rather than have them on benefits for a lifetime! We are not talking college here folks, we are talking about them getting a high school education, which is the foundation of, well, everything!
