Make the bill read: "Never to have an animal." The abusers will go right back to abusing animals Duh!
Register the abusers for life! Finally something to help these forsaken animals.

You can register to attend Lobby Day by the Humane Society of the United States on May 5th to show your support for Animal Rights bills people!

The registry is essential, but prison sentences should be a consequence also, and terms should reflect those handed down to people who abuse other human beings.

It would be nice if they mentioned in the article how to show support of the bill.

I want to see this bill pass. I don't think that any abuse should be acceptable. All to often this issue is over looked. It starts out as animal abuse but the people that do this don't stop there, they will hurt other people too. It is time to make a stand and put a stop to animal abuse.

I think that what ever they do for abuse to these poor animals should be done right back to the abusers. Stuff them in confined crates, leave them for days without food and water and let then stand in their own shit and piss!!!! Oh , beat and torture them too!!

ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY YES. FACT is, only Noah and his family (8) was on the ark and the REST were ANIMALS. DUH? That seems extremely case and point for me.

I would rather see animal abusers go to prison, but at least a national registry would keep them from getting animals from shelters.

Most definitely yes. ANY kind of abuser, for those who cannot speak for themselves - from children, to furbabies, to the elderly - should be publicly exposed so we all know who to watch out for and so that we have a place to go to for checking if people we are placing our elders, our kids, or our pets into care with are not on some abuse list. If there is any other dangerous criminal running around loose - are we not made aware? So for the safety of everyone we need to know if someone in our neighborhood, or someone sitting our kids or pets are dangerous people. It is the right thing to do - besides the fact many who later kill humans generally started out abusing animals. Everyone deserves to know this. it is not a private matter and having an animal should not be considered property but should be considered as much a family member as any human in your family. None of us want our family members in any abusers care. We have a right to know this.

yes cause sex offenders are on a registry so why not animal abusers i wish ohio would pass goddards law then this one would be next

The only people who would vote that it's no one's business are animal abusers. A public registry is common sense. It should be easy for places that adopt animals out to find out if someone is an abuser. It should also be public knowledge so people know if they are living in a pet friendly neighborhood or not.

It is a known fact that those who abuse animals usually go on to abuse people too...we are talking psychos here. Do you want to nip it in the butt early? Why, yes. It should be mandatory everywhere and I will keep voicing my opinion until it is.

Animal abusers should be named and shamed to stop them being able to do the same again ANIMAL ABUSE IS EVERY BODYS BUSINESS lets hope the law changes to protect innocent animals against these monsters who call theirselves human beings
