Could The Trail Gazette do a poll on the a height variance addition of approximately 11 feet requested by the Grand Heritage on the new building being built at lot 4?

This poll has been on the front page of the web page for months. Would it be possible to change the polling questions to reflect the many other relevant issues facing the city?

How about moving the Post Office to the Holiday Inn convention center ( yes, trash the useless convention center and make it a Post Office with better in and out access) and building your parking garage on the Holiday Inn parking lot site?

Local transit from this location by tolley would be quick to the downtown drop off stops.

Would it be possible to place map of the parking lot choices on Trail Gazette's web so all options can be viewed?

While I believe the town should eventually build a parking garage near the post office I would build the first garage on the outskirts of town south of the Visitor Center. Building near the post office forces people into town in their cars. Once again causing traffic congestion and undesirable conditions. Adding that the uncertainty of the Loop project, eventually a new post office, and the performing arts center leaves enough uncertainty for now to postpone a garage at the post office area. There seems to be a dogged persistence by the downtown business owners to make downtown as undesirable as possible from a traffic perspective. The fear that people wont shop is unfounded and based off of non-tourist towns. Make walking and driving more desirable and people will shop till they drop. First (and there will be two eventually) garage should be on the east side of town to capture much of the downtown traffic before the jam on Elkhorn.
