What do you think about the Library Quiet Zones on the 3rd and 4th floor?

For the most part, they are great. However, when people meet in groups, it's not a quiet zone anymore. Also, when people listen to music through their headphones, they don't realize how loud they are!

I was almost frustrated to tears trying to study for my history final with a group of loud sorority girls in the quiet zone. I don't understand why people talk loud in a library ever.

I think it depends on what days and what times you end up using them. There's times in there and there's groups of people loudly discussing whatever, loud enough I can hear them over headphones, but then there's times people are pretty calm.

I use the quiet zones all the time. I just wish they had more comfortable seating like the old chairs on the second floor, so students can nap between studying when they are there all day, and do it in a quiet area instead of group zones.

I used the quiet zones once or twice, and they were exceptionally quiet when I used them. You can hear a pin drop when you're on the third or fourth floors of the library. I'm legitimately puzzled as to why forty percent of those who voted went with the third option.
