Do you want Jeremy Clarkson back?

You wish you had the audience Clarkson et al have. Car reviews without bite and comment is boring like most Driving pieces. These three have the cachet and guts to call a million pound car crap when they think it is. They drive the cars like the devil is chasing them on a closed course, not up and down the Gardiner at rush hour. They will be missed and May and Hammond will not likely continue with a less talented co-host.

Clarkson was already under caution for earlier bad behavior. The BBC couldn't back off when he beat up his producer. They had to fire him or would have looked weak.

Why do you insist on using Facebook for commenting on Driving.ca when the rest of your newspaper uses Disqus??? At any rate...

Clarkson was on borrowed time from Day 1. His politically incorrect views about environmentalists, the Nanny State, "climate change" and public transit meant the left-wingers at the BBC were itching for an excuse to fire him. The fact he had millions of fans (most of whom probably agree with his views) sent them into a rage.

Too bad he gave them the excuse they were looking for.

Funny how Clarkson gets the bum's rush, while Jimmy Savile's behaviour was covered up for years...
