It's disturbing that her comments should be characterized as representing catholic teaching but in a tone that is hurtful. It's not just the tone but the fact that she believes in some kind of conspiracy on the part of people whom she thinks can change their sexual orientation. How ignorant and "un- catholic"! If she in any way represents catholic teaching, albeit crass and hurtful, then the many of us are right to back away from the church that would support such a person as a catholic educator. I would guess that a teacher who said the opposite would be fired and not be offered support from the clergy and administration because of the tone of her comments.
