Look at the steps, there is a lip at the bottom edge of the steps. The cat is going down the steps.

It's obvious the cat is going downstairs. Look closely @ the front paw that is planted. Normal pose 4 cat whether going up or downstairs BUT not where planted paw is located on the step.
