Should a law be passed to prevent pharmacist from denying prescription drugs based on their own discretion?

How many scripts of Viagra have these assholes refused to fill on moral grounds.

    Just wondering.

Rod, I agree with your comments on the show. If a pharmacist has a clear indication for why they are denying someone for their prescription to be filled (abuse, drug-drug interactions, or effects on the client in general) then they should be able to do that because they are the ones who give you the drug. In nursing school I've learned that in a hospital setting, a doctor can prescribe a drug all they want but its going to be my ass if I give a drug to someone and they have an adverse reaction, so maybe its the same with pharmacists. However, they should not be allowed to deny people medication for their own personal morals. That is unethical in healthcare. So yes they should use discretion, but with medical evidence prove that the drug shouldn't be given to the patient.

I don't believe that a pharmacist should be allowed to deny drugs for any reason. I don't care if they think the person is addicted to that type of medication. If a person comes in with an official prescription they should walk out with that prescription filled 100% of the time. I understand that pharmacist are important but they are not your doctor.

The DEA is trying to prevent pill mills from forming but they went about it in the laziest way possible. They put all of the responsibility on the pharmacist and gave them power they shouldn't have. Their logic is if they lessen the amount of drugs given out, you decrease the amount of drugs being sold illegally in the streets. That may be true but what about the people that are in so much pain that they need prescription drugs. There should be a service in place that allows pharmacist to report suspicious prescriptions.

Hey was just thinking about your logic on the low income buying lobster and steak with there EBT. I was actually more concerned about them banning chips and cookies also. shoot my mom never cooked anything when I was young I literally survived off that junk food for a majority of the month until the end of the month we would finally buy some good food. The thing people don't realize is in order to buy the more healthy food it cost more money and its hard to afford that on low income.
