For those who think that she should not have worn that dress to schools- SHE WAS 5, pedophiles. How can you sexualize a 5-year old?? If your mind is distorted, it does not mean that somebody else should suffer for your sickness!

When there is a dress code, follow it. When children are allowed to go against the dress code in grade school, just wait until high school! The dress is cute and appropriate for playing at home. The jeans underneath were overkill. I'd be upset, too. Bottom line: follow the dress code.

i can't believe people are serious. Of course the dress is fine. In high school I could understand me not coming in booty shorts just like the guys couldn't. I followed our dress code to the letter, and have always been a huge rule follower. But this kid is barely above the age where it's still considered okay to run around naked at the beach. She's five. If they have a problem with it, simply notify the parents at the end of the day that spaghetti straps aren't allowed. In the meantime, no one is actually going to be distracted by a little girl in a little girl dress except hardcore pedophiles.

First, I question why a parent would send a child to school in a long dress on a gym day, or any day. Secondly, school districts need dress codes, to be fair and to accommodate the levels of maturity and the size of the girl, they have to cover all ages. This story is about a dress, but a dress is part of the total dress code. Spaghetti straps are not allowed in many districts. Wear a little tank top or Tshirt under dress and there's no problem. It's not just the boys wanting the girls, it's uncomfortable teaching a class where the girls are barely covered, just not something even women want to look at from the front of the class. There's always been school clothes and play clothes, just like there will be in the work force. Girls are not dumb, they know they get attention from a skimpy pair of shorts, a low cut top, a see thru top, etc...and Moms and Dads, is that the way you want people looking at your daughter? If you don't like it, home school your child.

A full length dress on a 5 year old at school seems to be a poor choice and a safety hazard. Five- year- olds are usually very active and I could see a tripping or falling accident happening that could have severe consequences for the girl or her classmates. I don't think the dress is at all too revealing.

There is NOTHING indecent about this dress. Parent of girls AND boys need to stand up and make some noise against rules that impact only females, and which shame their bodies because of the misplaced repressed moral issues of the adults in charge. 5 year olds are not sexual beings. Even 10 year olds are not sexual beings. Stop treating them as such. It is the administration, not the children, who have the problem here.

Making the girl put a tshirt over the top half was one thing but the jeans underneath was just the school going over board. And why weren't the parents asked to bring her something else to wear? I've seen TEACHERS wear far worse than a full length summer dress!!

Dress codes are dress codes for a reason. The consequences, questionably handled. Sounds like mom is looking for the spotlight here.
