Read SCOBA (Standing Conference of the Canonical Orthodox Bishops in the Americas) on Marriage (issued in 2003). It discusses the topic regarding "same sex unions."

My Pastor told me He and the other Pastors would not marry same sex couples at all. Praise To GOD.

If I was a pastor I would not marry any same sex people I only believe in 1man 1woman marriage . I also Do Not like the Gays to push their beliefs on me and if 1 tried, I would tell that looser to get a life. I will Not be told what to do from any man nor Government what to do and what to deal with. I have my GOD giving right to do what I want to what GOD wants me to do. If man or Government told me what to do, I would tell them to kiss my bum. Also this news paper might keep what we say well they can kiss my bum as well.

The constitution says not one word about marriage. A lot of it is based, however, on the tradition of English common law, and other traditions throughout history. It gives no right to anyone to arbitrarily change the meaning of long-held terms in our culture. As I said before, I have no problem with those in a same-sex union having the same right as a heterosexual couple. Just leave the word marriage alone.

It is against the Bible and I will not support that type of marriage. It is in GOD's hands. if I had a business, I would let all come in. If I was a Pastor though, I would not marry anyone that is same sex as I would listen to GOD NOT MAN, MAN and Money is the root of all evil.

CED, Luann and Chris, the constitution does not care about tradition or your god.
The constitution is for rights and liberty for all.

It should remain 1 man 1 woman. If I was getting married, I would have a GF Not a man friend as it is against the Bible and also against God. So I will Not go against GOD. Or his written words.

Nothing to say as the first comment says it all...exactly what I would say...marriage is a sacrament to join a man and the woman created for a his union.

I have no problem with legalizing same-sex unions and granting those involved all the legal rights of traditional male/female married couples. Just quit calling it marriage. Its not, by any definition of the term that has existed in society for thousands of years. Call it a union, a partnership, a commitment but do not redefine words and terminology that have no need for redefinition.
