At some point in the struggle, even the dog realizes that he cannot catch his tail, so he resorts to other measures. People on government assistance should be encouraged to make good choices and the federal and state governments have a role in assisting in the dynamics of making good choices. Requiring that they buy, and therefore, eat certain foods while denying them choice to eat foods of their choice.

Big government is about taking away choice. These people are resourceful and will trade food for cash and use the cash at their own discretion.

It is far better for government to encourage a healthy diet, than to try and mandate one.

If Michelle Obama can require that school lunches be nutritious, low calorie fare, then the American taxpayer can require that the SUPPLEMENTAL nutrition assistance (SNAP) also be nutritious and low-calorie.
