When they return they may be executed for attempting to return to their normal lives. They want to return to their family's and teach young people not to follow the way of Isis. DO NOT let these guys or others who have gone over there to fight back into this country...............They knew the risks and the consequences when they left this great country to fight for a fanatical war mongering terrorist organization against our own troops and those of other western countries. Temporarily ban all flights out of AU to those countries (if any). Temp ban on migration here from those countries. Take those said terrorists for an exercise in interrogation (Guantanamo style) then relocate them thousands of miles away from Australia with an option given to their families, to join them. Extradite any persons acting or taking part in terrorist activities on our soil. And again, interrogate, relocate and offer family to join. - do same with serious and major organized crime immigrants and citizens too. Whilst we are at it let's include a subject in schools that covers terrorism, social media, drugs and any other item in this millennium that haven't been included in schools that already should. Introduce this T around grade 6-7. I want our Australian children forewarned and forearmed so if a terrorist tries to convert and radicalize them on social media or through friends or associates he or she can identify and report it. Also wanna see more campaigns in anti terrorism on our tv because it is a problem whether we like it or not. Australia ain't ready to change sharia just yet, if ever.....

We tried to get the Australians in Bali pardoned so they could teach our kids not to get involved in drug rings, and we were devastated when we failed. This is a similar thing. We already know that the Australian Islamic community is anti extremist (they reported Monis to Australian Authorities several times as a danger to the community). Why not let the police work with Islamic leaders to keep an eye on these men and keep them on the level. If it turns out they are recruiting, then cancel their visas by all means. We used to be a country of second chances. Now we seem to be following the USA's lead of imprisoning whistleblowers and monitoring everyone's moves. I don't particularly want these people back in our country but part of me can't help but think that if you keep doing what you've always done, you'll get what you've always got. We're not going to win this war by simply fighting and refusing to engage. Taking them back doesn't mean simply releasing them back into the population but if we bring these guys back we have an opportunity to get an insight into how they were radicalised and thereby gain some clues about how to tackle this escalating problem. The battle can't be won over the internet but if we have them back home we can better control their environment.
Maybe compassion is the answer rather than a blunt force "you made your own bed, now lie in it".
Some of these guys have kids of their own, or access to others', and that means a new generation potentially waiting to be led down the same path from afar, with the protagonists continuing to draw all the ammunition they need straight from us.

Don’t let these isis terrorists back here….leave them where they are…..they should be forced to rebuild the countries they destroyed, burying the dead corpses they murdered, repay the belongings they stolen, force to listen and learn from the suffered families (incl. the Christians etc) who lost their loved ones and everything by isis terrorists. I know it will take many years for the countries to be rebuilt but tough luck. Don’t offer them with the counselling and job opportunities here while a lot of families in Iraq and Syria to be left behind with a lot of trauma and lost everything. We tried to get the Australians in Bali pardoned so they could teach our kids not to get involved in drug rings, and we were devastated when we failed. This is a similar thing. Why not let the police work with Islamic leaders to keep an eye on these men and keep them on the level. If it turns out they are recruiting, then cancel their visas by all means. We used to be a country of second chances. Now we seem to be following the USA's lead of imprisoning whistleblowers and monitoring everyone's moves. We are fast losing our freedoms under guise of preventing terrorism. It is a farce.
Please Mr Abbott - DO NOT LET THEM BACK IN and let them deter anyone else thinking of going over. They will trick us and once here use taxpayer funded Legal Aid to appeal and fight any jail time, mount hunger strikes, and keep on terrorizing Aussies who were good enough to let them live here in the first place. I think they've given up the right to be in Australia by joining groups that want to kill people for having a different ideology to theirs, who are taking over territory that doesn't belong to them, and destroying cultural heritage. Oh hell no. They are terrorists, and we should stick to our approach of non-negotiation. Who's to say it's not just a ploy for ISIS to get in a radicalise more people? Send them back as sleepers? No thanks, I have faith that our intelligence organizations have their own "flies on the wall" and "boots on the ground", so to speak. To bow to the will of these people, whose inner drivers and motivators saw them willingly and proactively join the current prominent terrorist threat facing not just Syria but the rest of the world, would not only incentivise other radicals to go over there and try it on for size (because "hey, if we cry enough tears our home country will just let us back in") but it will fly in the face of the hard line Australia has taken and make our politicians, our government, and our country, look like a bunch of spineless bleeding-hearts who can be won over by a simple "mea culpa". I don't particularly want these people back in our country but part of me can't help but think that if you keep doing what you've always done, you'll get what you've always got. We're not going to win this war by simply fighting and refusing to engage. Taking them back doesn't mean simply releasing them back into the population but if we bring these guys back we have an opportunity to get an insight into how they were radicalised and thereby gain some clues about how to tackle this escalating problem. The battle can't be won over the internet but if we have them back home we can better control their environment.
Maybe compassion is the answer rather than a blunt force "you made your own bed, now lie in it".
Some of these guys have kids of their own, or access to others', and that means a new generation potentially waiting to be led down the same path from afar, with the protagonists continuing to draw all the ammunition they need straight from us.
