This proposed blanket ban is discrimination in a pure form. There is much evidence of the dangers of smoking tobacco and drinking alcohol and taking pharmaceutical drugs but this all remains legal. How much research has been done on the dangers of using legal highs as I have not seen any statistics but I have heard the fairy tales and stories. Surely a major decision like this should be based on scientific research and be fair.
I wonder if all the bad press is a smokescreen for the real reason for the ban which could possibly be that most legal highs are imported from China and does no good for the UK balance of payments.
