I'm voting for Michael Lorenzen for the winner. Give me a pitcher who can pitch a complete game. At today's rates, Kershaw, Cueto, Bumgarner, and the MLB best may have 2 to 5 complete games a year what with all these bull pen specialists and pitch count, and big bucks, and agents. Warren Spahn HOF LHP had 382 complete games in 21 MLB seasons; 18 per year. Can you see that happening today? Not with today's bull pen pitching set up; sometimes just to one batter. Why not just give us the best 10 pitchers in the organization; these best 10 would get the job done. How many times have you seen a good starter go 8 inning with zero or 1 walk and a bull pen pitcher come in a walk the first man; let alone the bases loaded. As for Cincinnati, for example, the pitcher starts the game with a walk; runs in the the first innning, and in the 9th, 4-4 score, pitcher starts the inning with a big BB. What is it? Is there no discipline to throw strikes; just give Cincinnati the best 10 pitchers in the organization on the roster and they will win; WIN IT ALL.
