Government's use of my private information allows for more interaction. If well taken government becomes aware of what needs to be part of policy and rights of social media inter-actors.
Both Government user and I will become open to one another and this is the goal of social media in a cyber-world. Both Government user and I need to see we have a common goal to achieve by social media. I must be concerned about Government's use of my private info and Government too must be concerned about me using its private information. In the philosophy of communications media, social media is the light of truth and truth interchanges with the Common Good.

The Attorney General in Australia forced metadata retention laws and didnt even know what the definition of metadata was. It frightens me that luddite baby boomer government ministers are empowering the dark powers at ASIO and ASIS to spy on australian citizens without even understanding the implications of the legislation they are passing.
Open data will mostly drive major benefits and being overly focused on the 1% fears, risks and abusive behavior will stall innovation and growth of new industries - private sector information is no better protected and businesses already have plenty of this - citizens should be able to make choices about what data they can sharehttps://polldaddy.com/poll/8895522/?view=results#

Because governments have been collecting information anyway and they have used it for example to provide public services but also to collect tax. So the concern is not valid because it is not something new.
