Do you think car decals should be provided to young drivers so parents and police can identify people with intermediate licenses?

I'm more concerned with the use of cell phones. More than once I have had a car coming at me in my lane, only to have it swerve back into their own lane at the last minute. I could clearly see they were looking somewhere other than the road . Will not being able to ride with friends entice kids to text more ? Just asking . P.S not all cell phone users while driving are kids

I have two Granddaughters one will have her License for9 months now and the other one has her perment for a year now. And soon my Grandson will be go for his Drivers ED . The thing is with these stickers that's on the window and the police see it and they turn around and the Blue lights come on the kid could freak out and messes up there are already in trouble and they didn't do anything wrong .. They all have a pretty good head on there shoulder we came out ok with out a RED Letter on US ... Give them a break it takes one Bad Apple to ruin all of them and that's not really true is it.. Think long and hard!!!

As a Mother and now a Grandmother -I agree with Allen-This would be a great sign for all predators!! Maybe parents need to be alittle more watchful of what their children are doing! Any accident with teens is a heart breaking thing--but a decal will not make the difference!

I think all bad drivers should get a big fat sticker on their car that would be funny. If you can't back up through a series of cones you get a bad driver sticker.

What a great way to set up a young person for the PREDATORS that are out there! Another feel good law

Wouldn't that be a distraction trying to see the stickers on the car? Why don't they attach a huge sign to the top so you can see it from a mile away. I got my license the day I turned 16. Now I am 35 and I have never been in an accident. Some of that is luck, some is because I do not drive distracted. I also never play on my phone, eat, put make-up on or read a book while I drive. These are all things people do daily. I think Maine should suspend someones license for 1 week on the first offense for texting and driving. Then a month for the 2nd and a year for the 3rd. These fines clearly aren't doing much.

Putting identifying marks on segments of populations in the name of safety never goes well and is absolutely contrary to the intentions of our constitution. Almost all societal problems can be minimized with a strong family instilling values into all of its members young and old.
