Being another "oldie" from the time of its inception I can only but agree with Jim B.
If a 50th anniversary reunion goes ahead in 2017 , there will be subsequent opportunity to review.
But for me I am for retaining the 3 yr cycle.
    Kind Regards

I agree with Jim as 2017 is a significant occasion for the Association. After that, I think, in view of the work involved by the organisers, three years would be a good space.

And again, absolutely agree with Jim - 2017 is a significant one for the association. If after 2017 the majority wish to go back to a 3 year gap then that also OK by me.

As we get older the chances of making the next reunion in 3years time becomes a worry.I am very disappointed I missed this year but now in my eighties and still mobile I would look forward to another opportuniy in2 years to try to get NZ again.

    Gidday Guys
Yes I agree with Jim and Murray and I firmly believe that 2017 should be reason for
a significant reunion being 50 years since foundation.
I agree Murray that 5 years is too far apart now (especially at our age lol) and bi annually is
ideal to keep in touch with our fellow sparkers/flag wavers and our aging instructors etc.
    Cheers

As we are all getting older, I think that 2 years is the better option. Cheers. Knocker.

I would like them to be every 2 years. If you are unable to attend one, then it is not long until the next one.

As 2017 will be the 50th Anniversary of my Founding of the Association I think we should have a Reunion
to celebrate such a wonderful Milestone in our history, and then if that is what he Members desire we can
go back to a 3 year period..
A lot of work is required to organise a reunion,, but using the experience gained from the previous reunions it gets a just little easier each time, and the end result is well worth it...ask anyone who has
attended...they are "Must Do"events , never to be missed.
As we the members, All of us, age"" with each passing year, i believe that two years is about the correct
frequency to be able to meet old mates.
There are a number of other reunions which crave our participation, Various individual Ships, "Äll ships"
"Long Time No Sea" Individual Branches. e g "Steamex" etc and we can make a choice of which of those
we attend...however I personally go back to the old traditional way of priority ...Sparker First, Then the
Comms Branch...Then Ship...Then Flotilla....Then Navy... Then Nation , hence Comms reunion comes
first , then Ship if they have reunion. then All ships etc.....as it is impossible to attend them all

Yes I know, before you climb all over me......I am Old.... but a wise man once said "You ignore your History and Tradition at your peril , Think about it.

Having organised large functions before, and knowing the effort required by the team, I think it should be left at three years. My first choice would have been two years and that way if you could not attend a reunion then it was not long to wait until the next. I think five years is too far apart as given the age of many that attend, it is likely that you would miss meeting some of your old work mates from those many years ago.
