NO SMOKING it should be no smoking anywhere in a public place including a patio a parlor or right outside the door of a business. I don't like to go to an establishment especially a restaurant smell the smoke and see people smoking as I enter. If the casino keeps getting by with the smoking this will open a can of worms and bars restaurant etc will open areas for smokers. The casino in Ohio is trying to please all and trying to keep smokers from going to Indiana. It is a known fact that second hand smoke is harmful.

The state of Ohio is a smoke free workplace state. This issue shouldn't be about the patio or smokers rights but rather focused on workers rights. Many good people are forced to work in The Parlor and if they refuse have been told they will be fired. The casino gets away with this because they feel they are above the law and rules don't apply to them. If they really cared about their workers, they would ban smoking on the patio until a remedy is reached. Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati EXPLOITS its workers for profits, while the politicians turn their heads.

I don't smoke, I hate smoke. However, this totally separate area of the Casino does not affect me in any way. Everything it offers is duplicated in the smoke free areas of the Casino.

As far as I can see, the area meets the requirements of the Ohio Law and so the people who want to use it should be allowed to do so until the legal professionals determine whether or not the casino in compliance with the law and is given the option to remediate. I have no doubt the space was designed in good faith in consultation with attorneys who believed it met the requirements of the law. So Innocent until proven guilty is a wise position to take on this issue.

So...,,no fines levied yet and yet they have been in operation since last November - at least - with this so-called "outdoor patio" that really isn't?
What do you say to all the bars, restaurants, VFW's etc and everybody else who DID NOT build an outdoor patio - and lost revenue - because they followed the law?
What do you say to those businesses who had to either go to the extra expense of building a partial indoor / partial outdoor patio that complied with the law...,or who have been prevented from having an outdoor smoking area because the land they own is not practical to build such an outdoor patio?

The real question is when will Cincinnati join other evolved parts of North America and eliminate smoking from patios. Canada did away with it in all major cities over a decade ago. Clearly people here are too ignorant to realize smoking kills despite the abhorrent health care costs from first, second and third hand smoke. This should even be a discussion! It never ceases to amaze me how ignorant people can be. Enjoy your smokes and hopefully you die early. Just try not to kill to many other people with your habit on the way.

The law should be about air quality - something that can be measured - not smoking.
