Are more gun control laws needed?

Why the f*** does it matter if the homicide rate is considered "low"? There are still so many senseless deaths being caused by maniacs who have easy access to guns, so yes, we need to tighten up the rules. The reason these innocent people in Charleston died, and the reason the school children in Sandy Hook died, is that we make it WAAAAYYYY too easy to get your hands on a gun. If you are not a criminal and you are not mentally ill, why would you object to letting someone verify that before you buy a gun? If you pass, then you'll get your gun, so stop crying that somebody is trying to violate your rights. If we don't pass stricter gun control laws, you better just pray that no nutjob with an AK-47 ever starts shooting while one of your loved ones is in the room. When did innocent people dying become an "acceptable" consequence of your right to bear arms???
