Are the recent reports of shark attacks keeping you from getting in the water at the beach?

Ok I'm sorry I'm not a hater but you know people how often does a shark attack happen like for real. And to this person but you don't need special netting the sharks are huge they would pile right through the net your not stopping them. I'm at Virginia beach and are shark fears stopping me no. So I'm not scared the only thing I could say for the scared people is be aware of your soroundings. But another thing is that don't go to far and you'll be fine. So just be safe and also if there is a near area where a shark attack has occurred just be careful but mostly at the beach your on vacation so don't just sit out off the ocean it's an amazing expeirence

I just want to say that I surfed and fish the Carolina coast for over 50 years, from Nags Head to Oak Island and I was one of the lucky ones to never been bothered by a shark. I am aware of thier habitat and am surprise by the amount of attacks this year. Just be aware of your surroundings and enjoy the ocean!!! It is thier home!!

While I carry Accidental Death and dismemberment issurance I am not willing to risk an arm/ leg to swim in brown water. As a local of va bch I love the beach but the risk is too large, these "attacks" have become like shootings around here (an everyday occurrence). It wont (hopefully) be too long before there are designated swimming areas with shark preventive netting, because honestly its getting to that point.

These are not shark attacks, they are feeding( fresh meat). If the shark comes up on the beach and bites someone this is a shark attack, and if someone gets bite in a pool, this will be a shark attack. Stay out of the water and you wont get bite.

I don't understand why they even allowing people too still get in the water. How many times does this have to happen, before someone ends up dead. My heart and prayers goes out to the people who have gotten bitten.
